In Iraq we saw people take multiple 9mm or 5.56 yes it WILL kill but not
really a 1 shoot take down, .45 and .308 is ‘better’ but combat is combat
so…..

more experience I get shooting handguns the more trust I have in the 9mm. I
still like .40 and .45 though.
So it really is alot about the design of the round and shot placement I
like the Beretta – but it bothers me that Beretta advises against dry fire
– kinda of wonder why a gun that is tested and adverstised to be dependable
– and it’s kinda of stupid that they didn’t make the case with
consideration to quality

people say stuff like this. Some said the 9mm was like a bb gun. People
reference the Miami Shoot out to the N.Hollywood Shoot out, etc… saying
only a 45acp will get the job done. Just carry what caliber that makes you
feel good – and make sure you practice and train with whatever you
choose!!!!!
Of course the 45 isn’t going to stop the bad guy 100% of the time, but
generally speaking a 45 FMJ will stop people more effectively than a 9mm
FMJ. However, the 9mm is very capable in JHP. The problem is that most
people can’t afford a lot of the high end Critical Duty 9mm ammo. Most
folks are going to be limited to a lot of FMJ in SHTF.
But if I carry a 9mm how will I feel like a big man? My jacked up 4WD truck
that never leaves the pavement & my Hardly Ableson that I annoyingly rev up
at every stoplight help muffle the laughter of the women I’ve slept with,
but I need that 50AE on my hip to keep that ol’ rolled up sock in my drawer.
great video! all the present ammunition is adequate for self defense as
long as you can shoot and control your firearm. your video contains a lot
of common sense, however, the “caliber wars” will continue indefinitely,
unfortunately.

10mm > .40 S&W, .45 ACP, 9mm
i own and carry the .40 .. but i would not feel undergunned with the 9mm..
Everybody smack talks the 9mm yet would never want one coming their way…
even a .22short in the right spot can put a full size man down for good.

Fact.. If you get hit in a vital organ with a 9mm, or a .45cal you will not
have a good day…
IMHO its never about caliber. Shot placement is key my friend. Hell a .22
can do the job if place right. this is just my .02
A .22LR is adequate for self defense. A .380ACP is adequate, a .32ACP.
Good information. What about ammo for short barreled guns? Does this stuff
work?
I have never met a person a .22 would not kill. A 9mm is overkill for a
good shot.

I prefer 9mm, it’s lighter carries more rounds and is more accurate.

its not the caliber size but the type of self defense ammo u use for that
caliber now you cant go wrong with speer gold dots self defense ammo
…and swallow them to get high from the lead. lol
I use photon torpedo’s.
I can think of about 10,000 victims that have been shot with a 9mm that
will laugh their dead asses off at this statement .
