In Self Defense, You Really Are On Your Own | Active Self Protection

We see the Bystander Effect so often in self-defense encounters, but this one really takes the cake. You really are on your own! Would you have had the attitude, skills, and plan to fight this attacker off by yourself? Would you have stepped in as a bystander? If you value what we do at ASP, would you consider becoming an ASP Patron Member to support the work it takes to make the narrated videos like this bad case of Bystander Effect? https://get-asp.com/patron gives the details and benefits. For anyone criticizing them for not doing anything…jog your memories a bit and remember ANY stabbing video Johns posted. Exactly that can occur or you can get shot. Dont blame them one bit.

Ryan 24k says:

I wouldn't have stepped in. You never know maybe it was his phone. He wasn't punching or kicking her. He was clearly going for the phone. Turns out it wasn't his but you don't know that on the Fly. I'd feel like such a d-bag if I just helped a thief steal that dude's phone lol.

Marc Williams says:

Lol everyone saying what they would have done if they were there. This stuff happens randomly when you least expect it and can leave you wondering what's actually going on if you are caught in the middle of it. That coupled with the fact that you have no idea if the attacker is armed with something or not. Most understand that they can quickly become a victim themselves if they intervene. So yes, if you have the necessary skills and materials to help, definitely do so.. but not everyone does.

bobby hale says:

I don't care if that was her brother! Those guys are all cowards for not doing something. Cowards!!

nunya says:

Wow no one helped. I'd at least gotten down there and tried to pull him off of her and "accidently" grabbed a little camel toe on her.

213ARod says:

Would u guys still intervene if he pulled a knife after u attempt to help the woman? Im not sure if there would be legal consequences for knocking the guy out but im sincerely curious.

My first reaction too was why the fuck arent those other guys helping? However after thinking about it what if he then pulls a weapon and i dont have one? Is it worth it? Does she have insurance and could easily get another phone?

pussfoot productions says:

already know what i would do
