So when a stakeout so often detects some unrelated crime how about, oh I don't know, you just have police presence in high crime areas anyway? Cops thinks they're too good to arrest people for beating their girlfriend in the street, they won't settle for anything less than nailing pablo escobar but the drugs kingpins operate in these areas because they need to exploit the base level of crime that runs rampant. Call it "broken windows policing" there's another term for this: policing. Yes, you will need a flying squad but when pretty much your entire police force is on these advanced operations at the cost of actual policing then it's missing the woods for the trees.
