I've heard on other videos IDF soldiers are required to carry their rifles and do so in condition 3–no round in the chamber. There are various theories as to why "israeli carry" as it is sometimes called is mandated. Some goes back to after WWII when they are a mix of fires with limited training and possible due to some old weapons not having reliable safeties. So it someone is not properly trained on the rifle they carry or it may not have a good safety then just do not chamber a round until ready to fire. They just do not want accidental discharges. Maybe the mandated policy will change if threat of being killed like this is greater than actual risk of accidental discharge.
I guess if your organisation b*ms babies u always have to look over your shoulders because that’s someone’s baby. They walked to relaxed in that uniform.

It sounds bad , But I think he pulled the sling off because it was rubbing into the cut in his neck and was causing pain. Its a terrible situation they are in.
