A lightweight expandable baton may be a great intermediate force level defensive tool for you to have in a public environment, if itโs legal, or to have staged in your workplace or around your home for a personal-defense situation.
I have a wooden bat for home defence as I've had two home incursions from the same person. It's started again now this person has come out of prison. I want to know how to use it properly. What really matters to me is using the bat in closed confines like a hallway, effectively, ensure it's not taken off of me by the attacker who happens to be extremely strong and nimble.
Still the best deployment technique I've found. Works very well for me. As for baton types & brands, I like my Bonowi camlocks. I have 2, both in different lengths. However, we all have our preferences.
I carry one all the time. I prefer ESP brand (16'' length, compact version) which is very popular in Europe, but I have also compact 12'' baton from S&W.
can licensed security guards carry them ?? In NYC?

what about the monadnock junior? Its perfect for attaching to your key ring.
Is there any standard practice for the baton like the knife?

unless u have a heavy baton its not gonna stop anyone… if ur blunt weapon is not a heavy one, it's not a weapon at all.
Step 1: open baton
Step 2: hit ANY part with it and watch opponent cringe in pain…nuff said, lol

yeah but small ones like that aren't always the best.
