Hah I knew I was right. I used to take karate and this is how they showed
us to punch. He should have also mention to not close your thumb in first
and your fingers over top because that is how you can seriously damage yuor
hand.
Putting your thumb like that probably doubles the risk of injury compared
to putting it “below”… which is why it’s done like that in Karate, Wing
Chun, Hung Gar, Jiujitsu… well, everything but Kajukenbo?
I thought this was going to be helpful to me since i want to know how to
fight, This isnt how you punch, you have to swing your whole body in it and
you don’t hold your fist up… maybe the thumb placement is right, but the
rest seems kinda bs

Actually the thumb goes under the fist so u don’t push a finger out of line
or get a cramp
