Someone who knows what they’re doing will probably conceal the weapon and attack without warning. So, the first strategy to surviving a knife attack is to be aware of the people around you. Pay attention! Second, control the distance between you and the attacker. If the bad guy can’t get close to you, he can’t stab you. Third, watch the hands. If someone gets close to you and you can’t see one or both hands, presume he’s holding a knife. Third, keep your hands up. You always want to put yourself in a position to attack first if necessary, block, or trap the weapon. Fourth, prepare for a struggle. Don’t believe what you see in the movies! As hard as you try to grab and control the knife, the attacker is going to fight to keep it. So, hang on and don’t give up! Fifth, pin the knife to either your body or to his body. You don’t want to chase the knife as it it slashes and stabs. Trap it and pin it down. Sixth, don’t forget about improvised weapons. If you can pick up a chair, a book bag, or anything (!), and put it between you and the attacker, do it! One more tip. If the thought of a knife attack terrifies you, that’s normal! But to be more effective in self-defense, we need to address our emotions in addition to learning techniques. So, make some time to address your feelings about the knife. If you can make peace with it, you’ll have a better chance of controlling it. THANKS FOR WATCHING! Fight and defense yourself against a knife alone when you have no other choice.
I speak with experience..my right hand is disabled for the rest of my life..and that was my fault..I had to use my brains.
A knife atack is so fast..so brutal..
I prefer to talk about knife attack survive as to talk about knife atack survive.
This video is good and realistic.
But watch out for many teachers that learn you to defend yourself against a knife.
Those teachers put lives In danger.
Be careful everybody and take good care on yourself..

doctor hardscrabble says:

I love you guys. so much of what is taught doesn't apply to me, but this caught my attention. I am five ten 230 lbs 60 years old. I am strong as owl shit torque sweet and deep from my hard work life. I can't run away, very fast so it is useless. I can't dance around fast enough to be as sure of that techniques as the bouncer fellow, might be handy thanks for it. My hopes are best in a couple directions one is preemptive jamming the other is in trapping and both go well with pushing hard to hope the fall or get off balanced and can't stab or cut very well. when I was a door man I had a dust pan and broom. My dust pan was on an oak stick three inches across and four feet long there was one nail holding the dust pan to the oak stick. The broom was cheap plastic. if you had a knife at the front door, that oak stick was pretty handy, had a reach advantage. The broom and sweeping classed the place up a bit.

TigerMeadows says:

In a bar/night club/etc. situation, the bouncer might not just be defending him/herself. I would imagine it is much likelier that the target will be another client of said bar/nightclub. How do you intervene a knife attack?

Raz3 MK says:

in a real life situation you will die.. you just can't defend… just do what he says or run… all heroes die.. he not gonna stand still he gonna run and slash you up

Is it affective if we punch the knifeman's arms
I mean muscle parts to make his/her arms weak

Glace games says:

And also, they're not only gonna use their knife to attack you so how you gonna defend their punching and kicks

Glace games says:

If the person trying to kill you is heavier or older than you then you would probably have s hard time to get him down to the ground if you tried to ssssoooooo,KICK THEIR BALLS OR PRIVATE PART OR WHATEVER AND PRESS THEIR BICEP (prob do it on their dominant hand unless they have no dominant hand) or throw their knife away or steal their knife to turn the tables (correct me if this isn't good cus I'm just a beginner yellow belt 1in taekwondo and not a miliatar)y guy

Rodrigo Gonzalez says:

Rule 1… notice if someone comes up with a hidden hand.

Rule 2…. you didn't mention… FIGHT DIRTY! Quit trying to show peeps what a wonderful world it would be in your controlled backyard. In a cell… a woman in a parking lot… a child in the back of a van…. if you want to be a useful resource, train regular people to punch in the throat. Eye gouge. Ear rip. Train them to survive a REAL attack.
