This gutsy defender maybe had several opportunities to avoid a defensive encounter, and that’s always the preference. But once he’s in the situation, he waits his turn and then smokes these three home invaders. Two took the Room Temperature Challenge, and one was injured.

He was picked out by the bad guys, he would of had to deal with them either way. At least his wife was not in harms way. And if she was driving the slow approach in the garage (because of the dogs) would have been twice as long. He did nothing wrong.
There might now have been that first opportunity that you talk about. He was in the process of getting out of the car. Depending on your physical fitness (and age) you might need a hand or two to accomplish that. Maybe his gun was in a bad position to draw. Or maybe both and he did draw while getting out of the car? Very difficult to see.
And when the crooks closed the door, little did they know that they had just sealed their own coffins. Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
My big issue with the homeowner, though. Why would he let his chihuahuas out of the house and then let them run around in front of his car out of his line of vision. I like dogs (I don't like criminals) and it would have been very sad if one of his dogs had ended up being the only casualty. Fortunately, the only ones that died were the scum.
You shouldn't make a statement such "room temperature challenge". It is necessary to defend your life or others, however you can make your point without trying to sound cool. Nothing cool about killing anyone……
Hey John, (or anyone else with accurate info), if a defender were to deflect a slide-action pistol by grabbing the muzzle, could that gun be kept from re-racking another round?
On the road to 1 million subs best channel on youtube!
Being in a vehicle is not a very good defensive position. This guy did great

He never showed that he felt threatened. Must have been his average day encounter.
Well done! Avoided a serious robbery!

If the; wife was driving, the dogs stayed in the house, guy walked quicker & got into a sentry position, this attack would not have happened.
only smoked two out of three… better luck next time
