As soon as the perp started to approach him with the knife or tool that could be used to do harm and the ccw guy drew&pointed hia gun at him, he should have started SHOOTING.
That is pretty dangerous for the defender. If it was me, I could have emptied the magazine. The perp is closing up fast, you don't have an eye on the back while you move backward or side way. The camera didn't show the position of our good guy. He might have been pushed to a corner or against the wall. You don't have unlimited space to keep that distance.
Wow , the self defender must have been in a hurry to get on with his day, because the thug car thief – armed with a tire iron, advancing in a threatening manner, explicitly stating his intent to bludgeon the self-defender – was BEGGING TO TAKE THE ROOM TEMPERATURE CHALLENGE…missed opportunity. Lucky for him the CCW dude was fit / mobile enough to create that initial distance and trained well enough to throttle-down his response to the deadly threat.
I had to take my mom to Walmart 2 hours ago, while shopping 2 guys were pacing people in the store, by watching these videos, my vigilance dissuaded the guys from singling mom and I. I was mentally prepared for an attack, thankfully nothing happened. Thank you so much John for educating all of us. God bless.

Um, you don`t know if he has a knife. And the perp pulls out a knife. Did the owner walk away? Nope. He continues to confront the perp. The perp says Wanna get sliced? Instead of saying, Nope. And walking away the owner stays there confronting him. The most he should have said is, "Sorry, no habla ingles. And kept walking. Terrible.
Out of the thousands of self defense videos I've watched, this guy handled himself about as perfect as is possible. One of the best videos ever! Great job Florida guy, for once lol!

He was very nearly attacked with a lethal weapon and could have shot in defense and it would have been okay and its all on camera.
