In my opinion Jesus was teaching with the sword incident. While focusing on Jesus asking His disciples to purchase and bear swords can be used to justify the 2nd amendment; it is not the end of the story. Jesus knows His disciples hearts, and allows Peter to cut off the ear so that He may heal it. Jesus (God) has the power to restore from injury or even from death. Those who make an ally of violence and death will find themselves rendered powerless when these are taken away in Heaven. To claim Jesus comes preaching anything but peace and unity with God is beyond my understanding. Thanks for sharing your piece, I am spiritually weak and need to find something to resist so as to comprehend God’s word as it exists in my heart.
Most modern churches train their deacons in the use of firearms and authorize them to carry during services. They are there not to take lives deliberately, but to defend congregants from people who would take advantage of a church thinking it to be a "soft" target.

I normally would not condone violence but if myself, or my family/friends were in danger Id defend them without hesitation
I would not engage in the legality of self defense, rather, we are called to be like Jesus.
