In Australia, a fully licensed handgun owner who used his firearm like this for self-defense would be jailed for years and banned for life from owning firearms. Use is only allowed on a range. When transported they must be locked in the trunk/boot. When at home they must be locked in a gun safe. You must submit to police inspection of storage/transport at any time. Heck, in Australia, even self-defense with a stick is banned if they can prove or you admit you were carrying it for that purpose. Still think California's bad?
Can’t even use his god given right to protect himself with a firearm because of his corrupt goverment. He shouldn’t be charged at all. He’s obviously is not a criminal but the target of a crime.
To me this goes to show the utter idiocy of draconian gun control laws. Grandpa couldve been shot or killed by two utter wastes of life who were truly "rolling dirty". But instead. Grandpa managed to save his life and the lives of the other innocents nearby. So. If there is ANY degree of REAL justice within the Brazilian legal system? Grandpa should only have to pay a small fine and maybe get his boom stick confiscated as a heads up warning to roll more in line with Brazilian law in the future.
Regarding dirty carry , a uncle in mexico once was asked aren't you afraid to go to jail?. He answered. "I can get out of jail but not out of a coffin".
Those words always stayed with me thank God for the 2nd amendment though…
It looked like this group of folks may have been on private property when they were jacked. In many places in the US, you can carry concealed without a permit on your own private property even if you need one elsewhere.

I think he probably just had it to protect his loved ones from crime. He seems like a moral prudent person to me. They should cut him a break I hope.
I dont know. I have read you can get in sticky situations if you shoot a fleeing bad guy. Could be for home invasions though.

I'd gladly do a few years in jail knowing I killed a criminal with my .380 or 44 Mag or Mossberg 12ga or AR15 or pellet gun to the face
