Aim for the face, grandad told me that until he passed. Even if it doesn't go through, wow what a stinger! 1😎🤙💪✌🏻

Can't believe you are considered experts.
Will never trust anything from your channel again. I only wish I could block your content from even just showing to me as existing…

Steve Hibbard says:

I have a 357 magnum in a 4inch Smith and Wesson

Robert Shaver says:

WRONG and RIGHT! I dare you to fire a 357 revolver in your house! I ask you, will you put on hearing protection in the heat of the moment? Indoors You will/may become deaf from just one shot! Even outdoors you will regret firing a 357 revolver (for weeks) without hearing protection. How fast can you draw your weapon "and" put on hearing protection????? Semi autos? Semi-OK for outdoors but "not indoors". Being Indoors makes a huge difference! An open gymnasium or the like is one thing, but inside confined quarters is very differing! I agree with everything you said with two contentions (press show more)
#2 A 22lr "fired from a pistol" penetrates "through" 9 sheets of drywall so even suggesting that clothing may stop a 22Lr is absolutely false and ludicrous. See: Plinksters' video Cheers: Robert

No me canso de mirar este canal, calibre 22 es el único calibre que se puede usar en mexico sin meterse en problemas ,claro que necesitas un permiso del gobierno, muchas gracias por su programa me gustan mucho saludos desde mexico 🇲🇽

Thomas Smestead says:

Not my first choice in a self defense caliber, but in a pinch…

Ron Matson says:

3:10 show me a 22 that hold more than 10 rounds thats not a rifle or a keltec

Matt JaxDad says:

The one thing I would point out is 22lr may be good enough for home defense and CC defense but hesitant for OFFENSE. If you are in a crowded mall, food court, or grocery store with an active shooter you must remember it will very very rarely stop the threat quickly. You will most likely get return fire. I think it would take one extremely confident or not too bright person to charge at an active shooter with a 22lr.

Blank Blank says:

Shotgun oo buck.= 9 22s.

J.B. says:

The issue I think, is that many people "think" they can't handle larger calibers than 22, because they don't "want" to make the effort to get better with them. If you set out to fail, you will.

Some older folks actually can't handle larger calibers, ok fine. I would rather have a 22 than nothing.

No person in prime health should, in my opinion, set out to purposely seek 22 as an optimal self defense caliber.

Nevada 524 says:

The gun you shown was a 2.7 mm Kolibri (hummingbird in German) not a .22

William Kennedy says:

22 can cause lots of damage but not sure if I would carry

Ben Dover says:

The one problem I see with these insurance groups, is that gun owner insurance will become mandatory like auto insurance. The rates will become so bloated that most won't be able to afford owning a fire arm. They'll become another tool for the anti 2A groups to limit firearm ownership.

Mike Camping for fun says:

I have a Ruger SR22. Can I shoot you Kevin with it. Let's say at 15 yards. Like you said it will not to anything to you, right?

jim hanty says:

Can you say the word “ stinger”….?

John H Sconiers says:

If that's all u got its bullet placement

Rick Adams says:

I would use it, but only in a revolver. Rim fire ammo would be my only concern. So at least in revolver you can keep pulling the triger.

Josh Hayl says:

🟦….. Penetration of a 22LR from a small pistol length barrel in ballistic gel (with fabric in front of it to simulate clothing) is around 11-inches.
Your HEART is NOT EVEN 2-in. behind the front wall of your chest!!…. How much penetration do you NEED!!

ubu says:

That being said 22LR is responsible for more deaths than any other in the US… that's because it was the round of choice for the mafia. I wouldn't call it "self defense" though! I still say to some of the women I train that it is better to carry small than to not carry at all.

Flyingaceful says:

With CCI HP yes you can. Unload 2 to 3 shots to a bad guy it will go down.

Ernie Miller says:

Here in Commiefornia, a 22 is about as much as you can carry without much hassle.

OutnBacker says:

One other point:

years ago there was a study by teh FBI, in which theyattempted tocompile a list of calibers relative to "One Shot Stopping Power." I don't remember seeing the .22 on there because at the time I never considered it to be relavent, but they did go with the more common preffered calibers in handguns. The results surprised mt a lot. This was about ten years after those ridiculous DirtyHarry movies came out, so….

It tuned out that the vaunted .44 Mag only scored a 72%, followed by the .357 mag at 69%, with the .45ACP at 67%. Aty the time, the standard issue police handgun was the 4" .38 Spec, which came in at 62%. (CAVEAT: My memory may not be accurate, but it's close)

So, if relativity matters, and I think it does, no handgun cartridge is very reliable in terms of dropping an attacker with the first shot. Thus, my comments on being stabbed by a very strong man with an ice pick, and driving it in 8" deep becomes relatively important if you are on the recieving end of a ten shot barrage of high velocity .22 rounds from under 20 feet (maximum typical home defense distance).

OutnBacker says:

Look, I get the idea that a more powerfu cartridge is arguabley more effective most of the time, and I keep a loaded shotgun ready at home, but consider this….

I will refer folks to Paul Harrel's video's on the .22 for self defense. He discusses all the pros and cons, but also demonstrates on stacked meat targets of pork rib and chops, a sack of oranges to imitate lungs, plus layered clothing including leather jackets, that the lowly .22 WILL penetrate, and deeply enough to cause lots of blood loss, broken ribs, and scattering of fragments.

Maybe not the impact trauma, but being hit with a high velocity .22 has been compared to an 8" ice pick, driven as hard as a man can drive it.

Ever wonder what might go thru the mind of an assailant in your bedroom hallway at 15 feet when that happens. It takes very little training to put ten rounds into a pie plate at 3 to 15 feet with a typical .22 semi-auto. Almost no recoil puts the sights back on target, no muzzle flash, no hyper loud blast effects, even indoors. The face, head, throat, all are extremely vulnerable, as are the chest, heart and lungs even through a coat or a typical leather racket. Ice pick, repeatedly stabbed and driven up to 8" deep. Visualize that.

The argument the .22 is jam prone has to do with ammo more than anything else combined. The quality of the typical polymer .22 semi is superb, and they are reliable as hell. Just find that brand they like and stick with it – and don't forget to clean UNDER that extractor OFTEN. Lint gets into the gun oil, powder residue builds up, and you will have an extractor that does not pivot fully enough to engage the rather minimal rim on a typical .22 case. My S&W .22 Compact is as reliable as any modern ______________. Pick your brand of centerfire gun. And it's only one of many out there.

The only valid argument is the oft heard "but what about…." the jacked up doper? Statistically, that is very rare, and that scenario has been seen using full -on police rounds, and the perp still kept coming for a second or two, so the ice pick scenario still holds up.
