In Exodus 20:13 the Bible instructs that, "Thou shalt not kill". God hates murder. and He hates criminal acts. But He clearly differentiates between murder and lethal self-defence.
In Exodus 22:2 we are instructed that, "If the thief is found breaking in during the night, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed".
The Psalmist, attributed his ability to defend himself to God's assistance. He said in Psalms 144:1, "Blessed be Jehovah my rock, who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight."
David had a gang of criminals attack his household and take his wife. In I Sam 30:8 the Lord instructed him to "pursue and recover all" . He did and slew them defending his household.
In Genesis 14:14 – 16, Abraham's brother, and some of his possessions were taken by criminals. While the crime was in progress he slew them and defended his families lives.
Only an armed or trained citizen can stop criminals or terrorists who are in the process of trying to kill them. (Police normally arrive after the crisis has taken place).
In rural areas Police can be hours away. In urban areas they can be 20 minutes away on other calls. When being attacked, it is also better to have a gun in the pocket than a Police Officer on the Phone.
Only armed citizens can stop crime because they are the ones being assaulted, raped, knived or shot at. They are always there.

Scripture instructs us to love God and to love our neighbours. This includes defending them. The Bible says, "Deliver those who are being taken away to death. One month ago, Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona publically admitted that he does not have the ability to stop terrorists attacks in his jurisdiction. He publicly called for 250,000 firearm carrying citizens (i.e. 'concealed carry') to help stop terrorism. He did this because he acknowledges that trained 'firearm carrying' citizens are the only viable solution to the problem of terrorism. In the USA, dozens of Sheriffs support this position.
