I can say first hand compliance doesn't always work. I complied and still got stabbed. Thankfully it didn't turn out to bad for me and much worse for them.

Edward Nutter says:

Not everyone is going to be armed, but everyone can be aware of what’s going on around them. I would have gone on alert as soon as the car slowed, and taken action as soon as brake lights went on up front. If no firearm available, then beat feet into the house or around the corner. He had plenty of time had he paid attention.

beastm0de7 says:

Pay attention, If you don't or can't carry a firearm, Carry a knife, Pepper spray, Taser, etc, Run if you can.
I am 17, I can't legally carry a firearm, And I won't be able to practically carry a firearm until 21, Until then, I never leave home without a knife, I pay quite a bit of attention, I am 17, I have no experience so of course I will slip up now and again, But I try to be aware, I always have a knife on me, I never sit in my truck with the doors unlocked, and I prefer to sit in it with the truck running whenever possible, Even if you don't have a gun you can do better in a situation like this than this guy just by paying attention, Pay attention and run away or run inside your home, Don't wait to see how everything pans out.

Jack Shattle says:

How do you not know those dudes just scoped you out?

This is why people need to actively train their situational awareness.

It very well could save your life one day!

Marly says:

John, i live in the UK and by watching your videos every week makes me become sooo aware of my environment as knife crime is rife here.. Thank you so much and you need to reach out to alot more people.

Jonathan Gilbert says:

I don't know why the guy didn't turn and run @1:10. it looks like the guy with the gun was calling him over because he wanted to execute him of the sidewalk. Good thing criminals don't practice shooting firearms. That is probably why he missed.

Matztertaler says:

Death by hanging on a street lantern before his family`s house for such bastards , shooting unarmed victims for no reason.

SmittyinPHX says:

Arm yourself folks, protect yourself, keep calm carry on.

MaharlikaAWA says:

What the hell was he doing in his car anyway? I mean this guy really was not smart and also had absolutely NO clue what to do in this situation. He didn't even think to run and when the guy shoots he hesitates and stays around?! Weird man…

RONNIE OCONNOR says:

he will try to jack the wrong person one day and he will get dealt with and I cant wait to see it on the news these thugs need a lead sandwich.

Robert Fustin says:

Remember that from a psychological standpoint, when you are compliant you embolden your enemy. And I would like to make, is that when you are armed you are generally far more aware of what's going on. I have had similar instances like this happened to me on several different occasions and once he took notice of them and watch them till they either got out of sight or the fellow had gotten out of the car and and saw that the intended victim was watching him, I've had several of these people getting back in their car and leave. It never ceases to amaze me that the unprepared are also the ones who are the least observant. Predatory creatures rarely attack from a point where they are being observed, I don't know how deep this is on the Primal Instinct of humans but I'll bet it plays out huge role.

Oldham says:

Appreciate the great content John, keep up the great work.

los gunz says:

Are you cutting off some weight?

Daniel Tiger says:

Hey John, I was wondering, if you ad a recommended rule of thumb as far as checking around you when you are loading or unloading a vehicle. As a father, I'm always bent over with my head in the car strapping in my toddler. I always pause during it and check my world every 30 seconds or so, but I was wondering if you had a recommendation on anything like that? Thanks again so much for everything you do. As a Police Officer, my partner and I always watch all of your videos. God bless you, Sir. Thanks.
