We have many good choices for self defense, and Gold Dot is one of the best.

GunznGear says:

I hope you enjoyed the vid.

thanks for sharing. -TEW

knifezoid says:

How do you compare carrying extra speed loaders/moon clips versus extra
magazines? Is one more comfortable or easy to carry?

Vincent Hollaway says:

Great Great video.

GunznGear says:

LOL Well sometimes folks just don’t cooperate!

GunznGear says:

Thanks for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

50run50gun says:

Why not 147 gr. for 9mm? Read that many FBI agents who still carry 9mm run
147 gr. because it offers better penetration and still full expansion.

ArmyStinger150 says:

Great vid Van! Good topic and great info.

Gavin Miller says:

First! Great vid!

ShotGun tommy says:

where did you get your night tec 1911 and do they have a website ?

ThaTank Garner says:

yes it is but that Gold Dot 135grain plus p in 38 is outstanding in my
opinion

GunznGear says:

Thank you for the kind words. There are a lot of good folks on YouTube!

GunznGear says:

Yes indeed!

GunznGear says:

My uncle bought one of those little GT27 25acp for pocket carry. His
particular gun jammed a lot. He used to say: that little gun could miss a
target even if they were touching. LOL Hope yours is better

Christopher DiPietro says:

lets face it!! some people are rhinoceros’s 😉 good vid

GunznGear says:

Hornady makes awesome ammo! Thanks

TacticalVoodoo says:

My duty ammo is the spear gold dot in 40 s&w it a great all around round
between stoping power and round capacity.

702CitizenArmory says:

I LOVE the speer GDHP, my main carry load for my Glock19 is the 124gr +P
GDHP. I also like the Winchester Ranger T in 127 +P+ in my back-up mag !!

BrassyTack says:

Agreed, there are circumstances under which a 25-yd SD shot might be
conceivable. My point was that it’s incumbent on the SD shooter to
demonstrate that he/she fired in response to a lethal threat and–baring a
few rather unique scenarios–that sounds like it’d be tough to prove at 25
yards. BTW, the S&W 65 sold before I could get it. Rats.

GunznGear says:

I think I would choose the 9mm and use 147gr FMJ. I believe the defensive
expanding offerings will be too limited in penetration to be effective
against black bear Sounds like a good reason to add a 357magnum to your
choices!!

GunznGear says:

Usually, 9mm is a chambering that is not recommended to use FMJ for defense
due to overpenetration issues.

PhotofriendlyJR says:

Outstanding content and message!

GunznGear says:

The +P and +P+ designation basically mean “plus power” and “plus plus
power”. Since there’s no exact requirements to add the designations, it can
be convoluted. Because some manufactures build guns to handle the SAMI
specs for certain chamberings, they will determine that +P, +P+ are not
recommended. Most gun manufactures will at least say that the use of those
powerful rounds will increase wear.

Great vid brother! I agree with the lighter loads.
