Funny guys! I tap to more chokes than arm-bars! Oops…hope my training partner doesn't see this!!!

Dieselx999 says:

I don't think most ppl would still wanna fight if they'll get their arm broken but u never know there are a few tough guys who'll keep fighting

Alan Hanley says:

I think caution should be taken with this advice. Many states have laws regarding assault by impeding breath. In most cases is automatic felony charges. I can think of a recent case in North Houston where a man died when a man and a woman tried to hold down a suspect waiting for police to arrive. Most of the video looked like a tight side control. They were charged and convicted on felonies. Pure self defense in fear for yours of others life is one thing, but he ready to prove it.

Haragei Lucid says:

My opinion:
1: These are the kings of self defense subs because they can end the fight with no injury at all or less serious injury than keylocks or heel hooks etc.
2: The “best” is the one youre best at or can get to the quickest.
3: Chokes are better because the opponent is alseep. Most people will quit after their arm is broken but a one armed guy can still stab or shoot you….or call his friends.
4: Slams/throws where the head impacts the ground (drop seoi nage, for instance) can be fatal. But they can also KTFO instantly. Slams where they land hard on their back or ribs (land on top of them for extra emphasis) can also end the fight immediately and without risking brain trauma. Maybe osoto gari or ogoshi for examples.
5: “Rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6” is a stupid thing to say. Its mostly just people who want to feel tough or produce exuses for excessive levels of violence. Obviously its better to kill than to die but dont be a jackass, theres usually other potwntial outcomes. If youre gonna put in all the time it takes to learn jiujitsu then you should definitely think about the level of violence that is appropriate for any given situation. One of the things that makes grappling so awesome is that it has options for every level of the Use of Force Continuum.

haiasi niknar says:

Before the vid starts I am going to say chokes just cause people hopped up on drugs or adrenaline can keep fighting.

Matthew Van Helden says:

the only problem is strangulation laws. you can get yourself in a lot of trouble. you might be better legally breaking both arms or a leg.

Neal DoubleAA says:

Repeated arm bars, never chokes. If you choke the guy out, he can't feel anything anymore so he can't learn anything. If keep the guy conscious and break all his limbs he will feel the pain and can learn he doesn't want to fight anymore future…. only half serious.

foxybrown2 says:

Lets be real if you hurt or broke someones arm that person not going to want to fight any more and if he did he would not be effective enough to do damage. So that was a bad scenario.

foxybrown2 says:

You would have to be dumb as you know what to do an arm bar in street fight.

alanguages says:

Chokes are better IMO. They are also more dangerous.

cabalofdemons says:

What's the Rickson Gracie documentary called? "Choke"

After Burner III says:

Chokes are the king of Kings

John Mason says:

Is it true that if a guy is big enough and strong enough they can just pull their are out of an arm bar or joint lock.?

Chad Fahlman says:

Our gym has young high-school student whom recently faced an adult friend that outweighs him by 80 lbs. Won by Ezekiel Choke.

I've been thinking about this and would encourage him to perfect chokes. He will seldom score an armbar against ANY adult.

But, my friend had no choice but tap once those thin, long arms were around his neck.

Chad Fahlman says:

Rickson by choke-bar.

BiggieB says:

I'm purple and chokes are no joke!

Mr Bjj 101 says:

My instructor told me about a time when he was in Brazil and a couple of the guys got into an argument. One was a fighter the other was not. The guy that was not the fighter choked out the other guy and broke his arms when he was passed out. So with that in mind, I guess I would say a choke.

Kama Jiu-Jitsu says:

Nobody expects a Joe cameo!

Me says:

There are no tough guys when it comes to chokes
