CCW Self-Defense Shooting with A GLOCK GONE WRONG

If you have not been following the news lately, you probably have not heard of the shooting that happened in some taco restaurant — or taqueria — in Houston TX. The news about the shooting that happened in that little restaurant locals refer to as El Ranchito is spreading like wildfire, which, if you only read the headlines, it does not make a lot of sense why it’s creating such a buzz. Ross Fisher says:

Harsh as it seems – this is why Texas still has its shit together while other parts of America are falling into chaos.

yungawwd says:

i mean 1 shot to disarm is different than a mag dump.

wildlifers 221 says:

Wat he did was good so stfu dumbass if he wants to light him up that’s what the robber deserves

matthew says:

honestly i think your take on the situation was entirely correct the first 4 shots were called for but the other 5 were not especially not that last one i think he did the right thing shooting him but the amount of times was wrong so if the judge does do criminal charges i personally feel like it would be ok because that last shot was really not ok

L K says:

Title is wrong? CCW Gone Wrong. That’s what you get trying to rob a place. He made his choice never learned his lesson. He’s falling hard times is a good excuses to do what he did. Last shot was unnecessary.

Lincoln log says:

Yep as soon as he drops the gun, he should stop firing

Alpha Tango says:

Hmmmm don't know if he was alone or with someone putting and keeping someone down is a fact of life kicking their firearm away doesn't justifiably guarentees he isn't playing dead after being shot a probably unknown amount of time you're high you don't know lol keep that nigga down you never know if their on drugs too… Not wanting to be known is the wise decision

FKn Odin says:

Look like a duck, walk like a duck , sound like a duck , you're probably a duck, a duck committing a crime running a stupid Bluff

CreepyPasta Reader says:

Went from defense to murder real quick in my opinion

Benton Free says:

Not to mention that I’ve been arrested twice now and charged with assault 1st degree possession of a deadly weapon while committing a violent crime. I have not been convicted as of now but have spent a lot of money and some time in jail all over self defense. My first charge came from a meth head who was trying to kill me in a case of mistaken identity. The individual taught I was the guy that was sleeping with his wife in exchange for drugs. He tried to stab me from behind but missed and then I was trying to get the knife away from him while beating him to death. Had I walked away instead of continuing to fight him while on the ground. They wouldn’t have arrested me for the assault. The second time was a little bit similar but was a guy with a gun trying to rob and car jack us. I ended up with the gun and standing next to him not allowing him to get away. But the cop said that I kicked him while he was on the ground and that made it assault

RWXR says:

Having a newborn is what made him that desperate. Most of us can deal with a little starvation on a personal level – but not having food for a baby? That has created more bandits than anything else ever. And pretty much every society hangs the bandits when they catch them, creating orphans. (well, the Medieval days they killed the whole camps including kids)

Good Toddler says:

He said he felt bad for taking a human life, but shot the guy in the head after he already had his gun and the guy was down 👌

Benton Free says:

I’m all for self defense and ending the threat. I also have years of training and experience in high stress environments where shooting or not shooting is truly life or death. I’ve so much training and experience that unlike the conventional military that I don’t get questioned nor do I have to explain my justification for unaliving a person. So in my personal experience this was not a case of self defense and didn’t meet any of the basic criteria. The individual came in and presented the firearm and never fired it nor pointed at someone. He got what he wanted and then proceeded to leave the restaurant and again not pointing it at anyone. He was simply just running away hoping to get away without anyone getting hurt or him going to jail. Then this guy waits until it’s over and the guy was leaving. To then decide to shoot him in the back and then stands over him and fires multiple shots into his back again. Then removes the guy’s firearm while shooting him in the back of the head execution style. Then he just gets in his truck and drives off like nothing ever happened. The moment he shot him in the back was murdered. How can you justify that someone who is actively walking away from you is actually and actively endangering your life, limb or eyesight? Them making the conscious decision to stand over him while shooting him multiple times again. He stood over a dead or incapacitated defenseless man and then he decided he was going to make sure that he killed him and shot him execution style in the back of the head. The simply leaves before the cops could get there to ask him any questions. Knowing that he was not supposed to leave until the police cleared him to leave. Had this been a cop who shot somebody in the back stood over him shooting him again and then shooting him in the head. Everyone would be protesting and demanding the cop be arrested.

sung lee says:

one dead ……r

D-Harbinic says:

the headshot was something he just wanted to do because he finally got the chance to. He most likely fantasized about it. The shooting is very justifiable but that final headshot after disarming the perpetrator is going to get him into more trouble than he wanted.

Jesse Ray says:

who cares if he was shot 8 times he deserves never point a gun and steal peoples hard earn money i dont feel bad at all hes a idiot congrats to the man defending everyone if hes arrested then i have no more respect for the goverment but good shit to the defender

Uncle Bob49 says:

Screw the punk.
But not a damned head shot.
Ruined a happy ending for me.

Ice Variable says:

A bit excessive. Once the threat is neutralized, especially after getting the perpetrator's gun in hand, there is no need for the final shot to the head.

DragonLord365 says:

The guy who killed the robber was dead-checking the robber.

James Nottingham says:

Who knows after 8 rounds the guy may still been breathing. So a dead man can't testify well you know what happens next (pop) bye-bye

kenabi says:

pretty sure dude wouldn't have lived even if that final tap wasn't given.

and its texas, but also houston. could go either way.

Alexander Hamilton says:

Probably didn’t wanna use a real gun or his homies knew not to give him one well that’s ironic considering he got blown away 9 times.. karma in some form maybe?
