Can I use taxpayer- paid doughnuts supplied by the Lib3eral party to defend myself? It was offered free to me.

@adrak91 says:

yeh guys who surround themselves with armed bodyguards telling you you have no right to self defense

@XXx-wy9kj says:

As a Canadian I will tell the judge the truth. High intensity situation. Impossible to know their true intentions so I have no choice but to see them as a threat to my life. And I acted on this threat. There are others in the home so running away is not an option. Yeah I’ll probably go to prison. But honestly the courts are wrong a majority of the time in self defence cases anyways and frankly I would say that to a judge consequences be damned.

@heathergaudet661 says:

I am afraid. Is that the point?

@peterjanjanin9883 says:

You're not allowed to carry a knife for protection either. I carry one, and if ever stopped, it's just an accessory 😂

@uwuloluwu says:

@user-gz7of4pi5v says:

Canadians are so funny. Most criminals in Canada are Liberal and NDP who don't like guns, and their victims are Liberal and NDP.

@bjorn____ says:

You know Canadians are in trouble when the criminals have more rights

@Alphawolf704 says:

In regards to the different cultures between handguns in the US vs Canada, I think it comes down to in the states a pistol is considered a personal defense item, and not really effective to properly attack anyone else (despite stats to the contrary) and is concealable enough to not be jarring or disruptive to your every day actions. In Canada, we believe we're already a polite society, and that anyone who assumes someone else might attack them is paranoid and a danger to themselves or others. A rifle is more acceptable in Canada because we can connect that to hunting and trapping, which are ingrained in our social understanding of history. In the US, a rifle can sometimes have that connotation, if it has wood furniture and looks old enough, etc. but a rifle isn't as easily concealable and thus gets in the way during those day-to-day interactions. And if it's obvious, it's a threat. "

Additionally, I would push back on the idea that Democrats in the states will never go after handguns. Right now, they're hyper focused on rifles like AR-15's. If they achieve that objective, the money that went into lobby groups isn't just going to disappear. Those groups will continue to exist, people who work for them rely on them to continue to pull paycheques, and thus their mission goes ever on. It will only ever end once one of two things occur. 1: they achieve a nanny-like authoritative state where everyone thinks the same, does the same, and lives and dies the same. or 2: their funding dries up because people actually get wise, and stop donating to them. Unfortunately, neither outcome is likely. Thus the struggle will continue on.

@rightlyso8507 says:

The law is much too vague. Look what happened when asked to define it, the guy was all over the place. Words such as "reasonable" have to have legal precedence and be clearly defined.

@davidnair5470 says:

@PhunkBustA says:

whats the point of earning money to afford things that can be stolen from me at any time with no recourse

@Lopt-u4r says:

Trudeau is such a trustworthy and considerate man, Canada has gotten so much better since he became prime minister. I don’t know why people don’t put their lives in his hands, I mean what is there to lose with people losing the option to defend themselves? Just put every ounce of faith into the Liberal party’s hands

@violeta5222 says:

The politicians only to be on open place near to them and ask them a question, the pick up the person and bring him to jail.
Then they have to be quiet and don't use any force against the people.
