desert eagle for the win ;)

Rob Green says:

Great video Tom! I carry a Glick 30S .45 and for home a Glick 21 .45. I
have been debating going to a 10mm in the Glick 20C for home defense with
hearing protection of course. I personally think that one you get above the
.41 magnum those guns are extreme overkill and better used for hunting
large game or as a side arm while hunting or hiking. I own the Desert Eagle
.50 AE and its would not consider it for defense in the city. Again great
job Tom.

ProudNL99 says:

I love my home defense weapon, although it is quite uncommon (or at least i
think so). I use the Sig Sauer P220, i often load it with .22 while
training, but i still have some .38 laying around (they were my father’s)
and i like that round a bit more. I’ve gotten really comfortable with the
weapon, but i think i might have to get something else (My GF keeps
grumbling about how such a tiny weapon could protect us 😛 no harm that she
doesn’t know better). Any suggestions?

MatoNupai says:

Tom; you forgot the two most important factors. Hand size and body
structure.

I am a small guy with small hands. I chose a Colt Mustang 7 shot .380 and
extra magazine. The round is small but good stopping power. Many
recommended a 9mm or .45. Those were heavier guns with more recoil than my
hands and wrists could deal with.

I would recommend going to the range with several friends and trying
different calibers until they found a caliber they were comfortable with.
If you’re afraid of a gun you are better off without it!

Scamdetector says:

You might want to mention the .38 Special.

Stephen Bradley says:

I have 2 dogs 100 pounds each thats good enough for Canada

mablib412 says:

.22 for assassinations…check.

Dell Schanze says:

Hey has ANYONE gotten those 30rnd magazines for the 5.7 to work? I tried a
bunch and they all cause jams. Was I just unlucky? I think the 30rnd mags
would be great for your second mag back up but it has to be 110% reliable
or its a no go.

Cameron says:

Training and practice make you lethal. No matter how much money you have to
spend, you get twice as much practice and training with 9mm and therefore
9mm is the best.

Cheesus Sliced says:

Those heavier rounds (.500, .410, .50, etc) are pretty good for bear
country and areas with other large dangerous animals. For defense against
people? The .410 is the biggest I would go. 9mm, 5.7 are great for average
sized people, .45 if you are strong enough to handle it easily.

Stephen Bradley says:

Not in Canada they can’t. Killing a dog is wrong

Joshua Lansell-Kenny says:

A 22 magnum with a 30 grain bullet can achieve speeds of 2,300fps what’s
your opinion on this?

emkplayboy6 says:

I love this guys response on what is the best gun for self defense!!! I
respect his thought!!!

CoboltHero says:

Someone really needs to make a more compact Five SeveN for concealed carry.

quickguesswho says:

dont have a gun yet, but i went to the gun range for the first time and
shot a SR22.. it was awesome, hardly any recoil and you could rapid fire
easily on target…. I would take a CCI Velocitor 40gr with the SR22….
Doesnt really expand much when shot from a pistol but has 15inches of
penetration

Ac1dR3FL3X says:

Hmm, no .357 SIG.
I have a 5-7, but don’t consider it my “home defense” bedstand gun. That’s
my Delta Elite 10mm. I consider the 5.7 my “battlefield” pistol, with the
range, accuracy, capacity, and controllability to level the playing field
against a long gun such as an SKS at 100 meters, where my 10mm is nearly
useless. I would actually like to see someone put the new 6x35mm into a 7″
compensated automatic. Would be a massive grip and frame, but I have big
hands, and what range and power!

INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT says:

I think anything over 357 and 10mm is overkill for self defense, simply
because if you miss with the real big boys you can make a big mess. Not
that you cannot make a big mess with a .40, .45, 10mm, .38, .25 or whatever
you are shooting. I personally carry different on different days, because I
have to wear different clothing in my everyday life, but I have found
excellent choices for everything from a suit to shorts and a t-shirt. I
carry everything from a 9mm Rohrbaugh to a 10mm Glock 20SF. I personally
don’t like to carry anything below a 9mm, sometimes I wear an M&P compact
with a Rohrbaugh backup. I have come to find that the Rohrbaugh 9mm even
though pricey is the best backup gun ever made. Better than J frames,
Seecamps, or Derringers. Just remember to change that spring every few
hundred rounds or so because its so small, the springs are very cheap and
take about 2 seconds to change for such a reliable, and I believe the
smallest 9mm ever. It is also a fantastic purse gun for the ladies, and
this little son of a bitch holds seven rounds, the recoil is lighter than a
Seecamp .380, and it goes bang when you pull the trigger which is what’s
most important. A little over a grand, but well worth it. Make a habit
instead of buying 3 guns that are OK for 5 or 6 bills, just get one really
good one. I would rather have one H&K than one Taurus, one Diamondback, and
one Ruger LCP. Quality not quantity especially with guns. The only
exception to this rule in my book are Glocks and S&W M&P’s, they cost a lot
less than some spectacular guns, but I would trust my life to them without
any question whatsoever, and the really amazing thing is that both brands,
it doesn’t matter if its a compact version or what caliber you are
shooting. Where as some brands like Colt 1911’s shoot .45’s fairly well but
make it a 10mm and the gun is a piece of shit, same with Kimber. You have
to watch your ass with 1911’s contrary to popular belief. I will only buy
Cabot, Wilson Combat, Nighthawk, Guncrafter, STI’s, and other non
production line 1911’s. I would much rather have a Glock 21 or 30S than any
Kimber, Colt, Para, etc. The only exception I have found is the FNH FNX 45
Tactical, but these guys are like Glock and even started in the same
country. They even did work with John Moses Browining back in the day, a
lot of their weapons are amazing and worthy of trusting your life with.
I have always liked the H&K Mark 23 too. Sorry for writing a book, its a
slow day and I am bored. Sorry if I pissed anyone off with the 1911 talk. I
like the guns they feel great, but there is a true difference between
handcrafted and assembly line 1911’s. I have just seen so many failures, so
much more than striker fired plastic guns. Pay attention at the range,
someone is always in a stall shaking the shit out of a Colt or Kimber. I
have no reason to make it up. Some of the more costly ones do the same
thing. I know in the higher end of 1911’s they all started off working
together, but I mean it whole heartedly spend the extra dough and get a
nice Nighthawk or Wilson Combat, Les Baer did pretty well but these guys
are the best out of their little group. I am done talking for sure now.
Take care and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

daft vagrant says:

I have two different weapons for carry. CZ 75 Compact 9mm for normal
conceal carry and a Bersa Thunder .380 for when it’s warm out and I need
something easier to conceal. Both are loaded with Barnes Tac-XPD simply
because ballistic testing has shown great performance in both calibers For
home defense I use a Mossberg 500 12ga. loaded with 2.75″ Hornady Critical
Defense 00 buck, if someone made #1 buck I would be loaded with that but as
it’s currently not available in 12ga, 00 will have to do.

demongawl says:

Who’s the blonde in the picture, she’s gorgeous. But no mention of the
Glock 23 when talking about the G19?

jlrockafella says:

40 kicks more than a 45 because it is a high pressure round, I prefer the
9mm since i can do follow up shots a lot quicker and more accurate with
still enough stoping power behind it. Also the ammo is just soo cheap I
mean 500 rounds for under$150 is insane!

Mr H&K 91 says:

I carry my new fn five seven

Leonardo IV says:

Are you italian?

Exterminence says:

Glock 21 4th gen. And like you said: practice, practice, practice!!!

bestsnowboarderuknow says:

I thought 45’s had less perceived recoil than 40’s?

Jacob Krieger says:

.45 ACP out of a USP or FNX 45 Tactical , COME AT ME BRO !

john doegh says:

i like 9mm for the balance of power vs control-ability
that being said i havent shot the 5 seven and would like to spend some time
with one

Anthony Logan says:

Xds 45 with hornady 185 gr z-max (certified zombie ammunition)

Dan Brown says:

Why does it say “self defense”, and not self defense ? I know what you did
there ..

farkasmate14 says:

If you want to take out a T-Rex, get a T-Rex rifle! Don’t try with a
handgun!

Mindmicanic KC says:

U forgot 22 magnum and 25 and 32…..

TwoGirls1Panda says:

There is no “best” it all depends on SAWC, finances for both the gun and
its ammo, training, comfort and more. Im a firm believer of carry the
biggest you can comfortably use for accuracy considering space/size and
weight control and finances.

As far as those that dont live in America, its part of our Right and
constitution, beyond that its normal for many other countries. Look at
Iraq, and most of the middleeast or Africa, many people carry out right
machine guns. Besides Gun crime is statistically worse in other countries
without the right to carry.

chriskeepit100 says:

No 357 sig

MrSkypony says:

Best knock down has always been one…357 magnum with 125 grain JHP, but
Since I love Sig Sauer so my carry is a sig 1911 45acp or when my back
hurts from the 7 operations I carry my sig P226 from back when sig’s were
1st brought into the USA and it still does 2 inch groups at 25 yards after
1000+ rounds

Tomken8d2 says:

I like .44 wheelguns but for zombies you can’t beat
a Ruger 10/22 with bullpup stock and supressor.
(Sound attracks more walkers LOL )

JG Harts says:

9mm well placed should do the job with the benefit of being able to add
larger magazine like the 33 round with a Glock. Many 9mm will hold up to 15
rounds in the magazine now a days.

John B says:

I like your product will be buying a shoulder rig soon

Kevin T says:

You know what I liked about this presentation the most? You weren’t
constantly giving us the disclaimer, “I’ve safety checked this weapon
already and it’s clear of ammo.” I’m so sick of that. Who started that
anyway? Who cares? I just want the information! Good job!
