Basic Self-Defense If You Fall to the Ground with Stephan Kesting

The more you can tuck your chin, the better. Sprawling backwards and smacking your head on the ground could knock you out before the bad guy even touches you. 2 – GET YOUR LEGS IN THE MIDDLE! Try to face your attacker at all times. Spin yourself around so your feet are aimed in their direction. Whatever you do, don’t turn your back! 3 – KICK WISELY! DOn’t just freak out and start throwing wild kicks. Those are easy to throw aside and waste your energy. Pick the right moments to launch a kick up to the head, the groin, or structural targets like the hips and knees. And now for the #1 tip– PRACTICE! No matter what you “know”, the more you put your knowledge into practice, the more likely it will be of use to you! I agree 100%. You need to make your self comfortable in all aspects of defending your self if your on the ground or standing up and I like how he mentioned about about doing drills so it becomes second nature

At around 5:30 , I call this the Potato Bug defense. You flip one on it's back and it just starts spinning and pumping it's legs. Very often you get to teach a student just one time or maybe 2. You need to give them at LEAST a broad principle they can remember and hopefully use. Sitting on your butt and using your arms to spin and legs to kick is simple, effective tool to give a beginner that may never take another lesson.

That is excellent. Thank you Sifus for these. just great stuff. Also really good as you get older and can't do the Hollywood BS moves you used as a "kid." Boxing techniques are good too.
