danielep69 says:

lol, brought back a lot of memories. I forgot how simple techniques really
do work. Over the years in law enforcement you tend to learn more and more
techniques, pretty much junk. Don’t get wrong, all techniques are useful
but, “KISS” (keep it Simple Stupid) and what your teaching is correct. Used
all these techniques at one time or another throughout my career. Number
one technique in my opinion? Be aware of your surroundings!

MeLlamoLilibel says:

Great video, however, as a female, I’m embarrassed by some of these women.
This is why we’re easier targets than men. Come on, ladies – get tough, put
your game faces on, and stop being afraid of your own shadow. You won’t be
laughing if you’re attacked and unprepared to defend yourself. The biggest
lesson you can learn is being aware of your surroundings while ensuring the
people who can see you don’t perceive you as distracted or submissive. When
walking through a parking garage, the look on your face should speak for
itself: “Don’t even think about it.”

Leja V. says:

I chose this video because of its title and my belief that every woman and
child should be taught … of course, at an age for children where they can
understand how to defend themselves. Still, there are moments when the
conversation is muffled and the words are indistinct. If you could fix
that up, that would be great. Would love to view and listen to the video
in its entirety.

dominik koscielecki says:

that punch can kill a person easily, and what he is showing is a bullshit.
his a PUSSY

GermanicWitch says:

Thank you for the video. It has been most informative.

Henrie Timmers says:

This is one of the absolute best demonstrations of self defense techniques
I have seen in my 40 years as a practicing martial artist and 33 years as
an instructor! These are all effective. Simple and proven. Let’s leave
the complex stuff to practitioners of the brand name martial arts and teach
our female students how to defend themselves quickly and effectively.

TheCtownguy says:

Nice video good info for all. We have some up where we live mascarading as
trained martial artistes passing poor Information. Vulnerable sectors
checks and researching the instructors should be a must to protect those
dear to us as well as great seminars like this..

juki0h says:

sexy girls, mmmmm…

Piya K says:

Such a GREAT Training! Wish you guys are in Ireland, I will be there for
sure.

Don't Be A Victim says:

Upcoming Don’t Be A Victim classes at Malibu High School this spring:
January 25, February 15 and April 19. All classes on Fridays, 1:00-2:30 in
the old gym. Open to teen girls and women. RSVP to
[email protected].

Todd Fleming says:

I believe that Impact or Model Mugging self defense programs can take this
training to the next level. Padded attackers, adrenaline scenario training,
and female instructors are extremely helpful. The Gracie women’s
empowerment program can teach many of these techniques more correctly.
Respectfully.

D Patrick says:

I disagree, nothing wrong with laughing and having fun while training.
Doesn’t mean that they are not serious or training isnt a benefit. People
learn better when relaxed.

Luis Garcia says:

Agreed, woemn tend to take this classes as if their were jokes.

anahnany says:

it is good to learn this technique.but use this too : stay home to avoid
all the troubles, and if its necessary to go out dress as a Muslim girl so
nobody will not see your attractive part of your body to follow you … and
it is better if you go out with your husband or brother to protect you.

Calvin Silverbow says:

I really wish these women would have taken this training more seriously.

Calvin Silverbow says:

Women’s self defense is personal to me, because my daughter was once
attacked. Learned skills is what saved her life. Once someone learns how
dangerous fire is, they tend to take fire very seriously…being burned
hurts and enough fire can kill. To me, this is not a laughing matter… and
to take any part of self defense lightly is a mistake that may have dire
consequences. It is perspective I guess. … Why are they there?

Bobby Peckerwood says:

this shit’s a joke just teach them how to yell for help and use a weapon
instead

deavon hall says:

Great video, great teachers an motivated students, tuff looking wemon there

Mara Dee says:

wow I want to do this so bad! hopefully I can join a krav maga class close
by

Spikesfeet says:

That was my first thought, too. From experience, I know that if you get
into a situation like this for real, the fear almost freezes you into
paralysis. They should have used this opportunity to toughen the heck up.

варя ибрагимова says:

cool classes, i’d with to have same in my town

Giacomo Ferrario says:

You are an ‘Excellent Instructor Joey’. Very kind., I lost touch with you
in the 80’s and went on to train with Greg Wilkinson (Free style? I believe
was the name. Getting old Joey. lol) He is kind too and loved teaching
kids. I saw Albert Cornejo a few months ago at Casa Escobar in S. Monica.
Hasn’t changed a bit at age 73 and he still teaches. I Pray you’re well
Joey. I saw that your dad moved his rest. to Oxnard from Malibu. When I
visit USA from Italy I’ll go see him Ciao, James Hall Giacomo

saiga76239mmm says:

NO, he’s a TERRIBLE INSTRUCTOR. This is some dumb, chick play-time happy
hour & crap. I would have made the whole class do 50 burpees every time
someone starts laughing.

D Patrick says:

how are they not taking it seriously?

варя ибрагимова says:

apekillssnake says:

If you break away like that as a Woman’s Self Defence Course, you will
encourage the guy to come back in harder, maybe think about punching you
because you broke away.

apekillssnake says:

The Throttle position doesn’t take into account the shock and often is
enough to land on top of a female for real. You wont break the arms up that
way to a man on a woman, and as soon as the woman moved he would grab her
arms or hit her to get control of her again. An attacker is not going to
wait as you try to turn his neck round either.

Inga Lisa says:

I don’t see how they’re not taking this seriously. They’re giggling at some
points, they’re young and giggly and are visiting this course with their
friend, mum or sister… of course they’re giggling. So what? They will
still remember their practice when someone attacks them

Calvin Silverbow says:

It is a matter of concentration. They are getting an introduction to saving
their lives when in danger. When you see seriousness in students, they will
be concentrating and there will be a lack of emotions. What causes
laughter? If a victim of violent crime was teaching the course, I don’t
think their would be this much laughing. “Why are you laughing? This isn’t
funny. This is serious. You need to pay attention and concentrate.”

Anika Kat says:

The problem is for the small people, skinny, short, ect. If they get above
you put ur arms straight out on their shoulders and kick them.

xiaolaoshu520 says:

some of these girls dont take it seriously only playing.. this is life or
death reality if you encounter this

saiga76239mmm says:

Because most women never got raped before. It’s still very rare so they
never have to test out whether any of this works. The only women who do
take this seriously are usually the ones who were raped and/or had the snot
beaten out of them by some dude in her life, on a regular basis.

Joe Chandler says:

Comments on here talking about giggling etc, not taking it seriously do not
teach? Understand people laugh and giggle as a nervous response when they
are learning self defense. People dont walk around in an aggressive violent
state and most people are not comfortable being physically aggressive. They
learn how to get comfortable before intensity, on a basic level Joey is
doing a good job of keeping them engaged. You need progressive training to
handle 100% intense training without injuries.

apekillssnake says:

Kicking out on the floor, just give the guy the ability to catch an ankle
and get a side mount, strangle her out. Also heel Palms to the face are
very simple for a man to block with his arms and reactions which will spin
the female around or she falls over.
