Giving medial aid to the perp is ultimately up to you, BUT…where's your gun? Likely, it's been reholstered. And if you start to render aid, you're bringing it close to someone who would be willing to grab it and use it. Something to think about. Heck, if the perp got your gun, shot your friend dead, maybe they would charge you with felony murder of your buddy. You knowingly and recklessly allowed…blah blah blah. The Rittenhouse case should make everyone understand how ridiculous prosecutors can be.
I think helping can cause anyone who practices law as a bully to drag the case saying you felt guilty because maybe they were backing off and your wife saw you just wanted her on your side

Be fully aware ๐ฏ that street bums or homeless people, drunks might rush up or either snatch items off the ground, grab ๐ช $ etc. If possible try to note any ๐น or open business, lights. Be aware too, 911 โ๏ธ calls are time/date stamped. Some newer software ๐ systems work in real time, GPS to allow EMTs fire to get on the exact scene.
