This badge cam from Modesto, CA is highly morally and legally questionable. Trevor Seever was fatally shot by Officer Joseph Lamantia on December 29, 2020.

Seems I have quite an unpopular opinion when I say IDGAF. One less mentally disturbed wannabe cop killer. First shots = questionable but the last few, the ones that connected? Well why the hell did the dude drop his hand into his lap in a manner that screams "I'm reaching" after he already had both up? He was a fool. HE HAS ALREADY BEEN SHOT AT! You better believe if a cop shot at me rightfully or not (and missed or hit) my hands will be up and they will not go down until ordered period.
I'm very pro police, but this video pisses me off. I've seen so many videos of officers being patient with people in much more dangerous situations. This cop just rolls up shooting. Very sad and he needs to be held accountable. He should not ever carry a weapon again. He is proving he uses it way too early.
This is very disappointing to see, how can you take a 50 yard shot without identifying a threat? I mean you aren’t even close enough to determine if he’s got a weapon or not! More and more civilians are more trained and training more often than Law enforcement officers
There was NOTHING in this situation or video that called for that gun to be out AT ALL. This officer comitted murder. Period. He is lucky I am not his judge or gury. He would be behind bars for the rest of his natural life. Not just fired in disgrace. As an officer you are sworn to uphold the very law you expect us to adhere too. If you are unable to you MUST be subject to those laws. If you as an officer think for as much as ONE second you do not deserve to be held to that standard or are somehow above or beside that standard. That is the second you should resign permanently or get comfy behind a desk.
if you want officers to use less lethal force – you need to give them full body bullet proof set up – not just a vest. And then he will come over and tap you on the shoulder instead.
i cant believe the stupidity of a bullet proof suit being more expensive than 1 persons life – im pretty sure 1 person could make more than 1 suit in their lives.
This is insane. Nothing about this is justifiable. At no point did this "suspect" look like a threat. How did the cop even identify him? Imagine trying to "put your hands up" after you've been shot. This cop is a threat to the public. He should be fired and then charged with murder.
I almost always defend officers but this was honest really wrong because the dude didn’t have any proof that he was a threat also most officers say get ems right away I didn’t hear it granted it was sped up but this officer really should go to jail for this base off what a do know from this video
i have one solution for all these ridiculous cop shootings that should have been done years ago.
Solution – Start loading the first half of there mags with non-lethal rubber rounds and the other half with lethal rounds. The rubber bullets will still hurt a suspect like hell, and in the moment they wont know if they got hit with a rubber bullet or real one, and more than likely by the time the mag gets to the lethal rounds the confrontation would have been over and the suspect lives and cop's off the hook, thats a win win to me. I would even add red paint to the rubber rounds for psychological impact on suspects
it is a natural reaction to grab an injury when your hurt, the guy got shot first, and the split second he put his hands down he was feeling his wound. keep in mind, cops are the same idiots who scream stop moving while your dying in agony
