Excellent advice and very helpful presentation. Thank you.

Paul Wells says:

I love your channel, your one of my favorites. You state in this video that a 22 will easily penetrate a skull. I butcher a lot of my own meat. I often use a 22lr to dispatch my animals. I have observed that on anything larger than a rabbit a 22 will not reliably pierce the heavy bone of the skull. I always use a rifle, but I do use inexpensive ammunition. I have seen a lot of animals keep going after a 22lr headshot. I'm not sure how to simulate heavy bone for testing, but it would be interesting to see which rounds performed the best.

Martin James Clark loves Jeanie says:

It's all about shot placement! I'd rather be missed by my .45acp than hit by my .22 pistol.

Thomas Luczak says:

yeah…back to troll you redneck theists. how's all that trump winning going for ya`ll ? why don't you do the patriotic thing and feature only russian firearms ? it would make comrade donald very happy.

ken engle says:

Iraqveteran8888 has a video on how far will a .22LR kill. In the video, lethal shots are made up to 400 yards through solid wood boards which the military determined would produce a lethal wound. Anyone that says a .22LR is not an alternative self defense round has not been shot with one or seen someone shot with one. As a former police officer I've seen my share of deceased individuals killed by the .22LR. The IDF even uses the Ruger 10-22 as a sniper rifle in urban areas….

crabblike says:

I have been thinking of switching to 22TCM for similar reasons. (rheumatism) While 22LR is easier to conceal than a baseball bat, it is extremely limited in its ability to stop a determined attacker. Know the limits of yourself and your tools. Carry on.

Rodger Haas says:

I don't think that the 22 lr firearm is a problem for self defense, but the reliability of the 22 round is what I question! I believe that a revolver is the only way I would trust this round for self defense!

Arnold Meynaerts says:

Hi there. You certainly are a decent person and I liked watching your video but there is one thing I can't understand: if you are a praying person, why to talk so easily about killing other people…
Best regards,
Arnold (Belgium)

Virtual Vapes says:

Please pray for my father as he searches for a job. He is an X-ray tech with close to twenty-five years experience. He was laid off from a hospital after 19 years. He worked for a couple of other clinics and even taught at a school. My ultimate prayer request would be that he would be able to retire and enjoy the rest of his years as he is 77 years old.

Jonathan McGowan says:

Even though I carry a Smith & Wesson M&P 40 Shield I've been considering adding a Smith & Wesson M&P 22 to my collection. My wife has a Taurus PT22 among other choices. I am a .22 fan and if one uses good ammo the 22LR is a nice choice. I've accumulated a lot of different .22 brands of ammo and when I have the chance I will be doing chronograph comparisons in all my 22's (3 handguns, 4 rifles) and will share the results with you if you like.

Jesse Alvarez says:

22 horrible/foolish idea for self defense. Good luck with a fatal shot under a real situation.

Ken Hawk says:

God family and guns please pray that the gun industry starts bringing back guns that shoot the 25 acp and 32 acp for those of us that want lower recoil and higher magazine capacity.

Ian King. says:

i find 45 and 9mm are way to big to conceal for me.

Twain Conley says:

I would not want to get shot in the head with one. Seen 22Lr take down a 300lb hog at 100 yards in the head. A person wouldn't be any different. Love your video's! Keep up the good work!

Edward M. Arnold, Jr. says:

Excellent presentation! i'm going to watch it again and again and I rarely say or do that. Your point about shot placement head or spinal cord is the main reason why I'm a 22 fan. It has minimal recoil and that means more shots on target in a shorter period of time. Love the prayer pitch at the end too!

Smitty Smith says:

Ok, I'm a U.S. Marine and my Grand Father was a Soldier for 24 years and he was adamant about the fact that the .22 lr was deadly and efficient. I take his word for it. I have killed large animals with the .22 and the .22 mag and I promise you that it is lethal.
The longer the barrel, to a point, the better but even at close range you are in charge against punks. Good vid as always and God bless you and you'rs

Eric Martin says:

Thank you for your opinion and yes I agree, accuracy and speed is very important, I have an SR22 and three times I have had trouble with it at the range and all three times the screw had loosened up and fallen out of the gun by the trigger , Ruger has sent me extras so I don't know if that is a common problem, the 22 ammo has to be kept away from moisture as they don't seal them well, I have cleaned my gun and left a slight film of oil and when I would shoot my gun, the chambered round would barely make it out the barrel, if I were facing an enemy and my Sr22 was what I had I would not be worried but I would pray my screw was not loose and my ammo was good , I know I have always had a screw loose but I don't need my gun to have one as well, CCI ammo works best with mine but the quality of 22 ammo has decreased as the price has increased , I agree 22 is a great carry round for anyone willing to practice shooting and fixing a problem, I can run 1000 rounds through any of my nines without a hiccup and within 200 rounds with my 22 I have had to clear a chamber , cycle a slide or something that I can do in my sleep but my wife would panic I think in a stress situation, my wife carries a Smith 38 642 and a Glock 26. She drives nails with them but I don't know how well she would handle a stress situation malfunction and we should all train in this as if anything can happen , it will likely happen in a stress situation , am I the only one who has had this problem with the SR 22 screw backing out and I noticed a white coating on the replacement screws so I didn't use Locktite but if it happens again I will remove the white that looks like thread tape and use red Locktite. The gun will still fire and I have shot a few mags through it with the screw missing but there would be a failure every few rounds until I figured out what was happening and I would notice my barrel would be loose, this screw holds the barrel tight so failure to feed becomes an issue, God bless you and thanks for the hard work and ministry and I hope I have helped someone who maybe having the problem I have had, get yourself an Alan wrench and check the screw and keep yourself good reliable ammo.

Randy Kirby says:

Nice bible verse you have displayed behind you. God bless you.

geezerp1982 says:

stopping power is a myth only wonding that stops someone ! plenty of books on it
2 shots from .22lr = 11mm which is near to one 9mm hollow point ! and do penetrate 12inches into gel block even in a 3.5 inch pistol

Scott Hespen says:

I've carried a 9mm for years and have confidence that I can hit what I need to in an attack situation. I used to dismiss the .22 LR as well until I bought a Ruger .22 takedown just for plinking and easy carry. The first time I took it out and shot it it I learned that I could send a FURIOUS number of rounds down range in seconds with extreme accuracy because of the lack of muzzel flip. I live in the suburbs of one of the most violent cities in the US. Most robberies, car jackings, etc. happen with two or three attackers at once. And they frequently still shoot victims that hand over everything the attackers want- they just like killing people. Being able to fire at multiple targets at close range as fast as you can pull the trigger while actually HITTING your targets is worth serious consideration. Don't forget, in the bad old mafia days, a lot of mob hits were done with a .22 or .25 cal pistol. They do the job.

2A4Defense says:

The caliber debate for self defense is one I try to avoid. I also believe a 22 can stop an attacker or if not slow him down. David took out the giant Goliath with a well placed stone thrown out of a sling so I think with a well placed 22 shot into some ones head will do the trick. Also having God on your side is always a good thing. I also read some where that several trauma surgeons where asked what was the most damaging or deadly bullet caliber that they had to deal with in shooting victims and they all said the 22 caliber caused the most damage because it would bounce off of bones in all different directions after entering the body. Not sure how true that is but it seems logical.

Jordan Burke says:

great video! just got a 22 and I can't agree more, I've already had a discussion with a few buddies about 22 lr for self defense. my go to home defense weapon is my AR15. but I still keep all my other weapons fully loaded. 1) because doesn't hurt to have a back up or two, you never know and 2) because if every gun is loaded when stored/on the wall there is no question if it's loaded or not.

JustLookN says:

Just a little something for the .22 haters……….You do understand that 2 shots to the groin area will stop just about anyone right ? Once down if need be pop one to the head. That particular shot placement also bodes well against a vest. There's always talk about severing spinal cords or what not but 2 in the groin is a man stopper imo. I always practice groin shots while also doing center mast or head. In a self defense situation.

william rothenberg says:

best concealed handgun,and very quite

Howard Johnson says:

Shot to the head is pretty defensive

Paul Colletti says:

Great Video & You Are Very Correct! A 22LR Is A Very Fast Firing Round! Shot Placement Is Key In Any Round! My Wife Carries The Same Gun & Her Rounds Are CCI 36Grain Hollow Tips & 40Grain… If Your Gonna Carry A 22LR Always Buy The Best Ammo…….. AND ALWAYS KEEP YOUR GUN CLEAN! Amen Brother! God Bless…
