if the world went to shit like real bad. I guess in a time where its scavenge to survivr. It would make sence for the .22 A 9mm bullet would probably be able to recraft and make 4 .22 bullets. so nomather what ammunition you find, it can be used efficiently. also blanks for tools that operate that way can be used directly with a pellet from a .22 airrifle.
Better than nothing. If the person is on methamphetamines , anabolic steroid rage or a psychotic situation then I prefer a heavier grained projectile at 1000 feet per second.
I don't need a whole mini artillery round for urban self defense where there's apartments every which way you look, so the 22 short is what I'm currently considering
If I ever have to defend myself against a can of tuna, I will definitely carry my Glock. If not, I will continue to carry my S&W .22 mag. Thank you very much.
My buddy, shortly after graduating the police academy, was shot in the left bicep with a 22lr and it punctured his lung. He had shot the gun that shot him 4 times with his 9mm Glock. My buddy passed in the ambulance and the other guy lived a long life in prison. Just goes to show.
There are .22lr hollow points, which work quite well. My biggest problem is the feeding problems and the maintenance problems with a .22lr. I don't think it's reliable enough to be an EDC. It totally would drop someone though if it was what you had.
You know how many tuna cans thick you are…the same as the pulse rate of a person on the receiving end of a .22lr…0…I’m pretty sure it’s good night moon if they know how to aim period lol
There’s no way you only got 5 cans worth of penetration with the 22lr your shot placement must have been off or something I can shoot through that many with the sig virtus pcp I got but it’s tuned to hell and back now 🤷♂️
Chances are the dude intruding in your house doesn’t have body armor. A few rounds of even 22 would do damage. But bigger calibers can shatter bone so that’s a plus
Always better than a pointy stick or even a bat. Most criminals are gonna run the other way once you start shooting and not care what cartridge you're using.

You should be using stingers
Let’s get a volunteer to be shot with one

Just got a Ruger mark IV chambered in .22lr it's badass!

Demonstrated Concepts LLC has a good video on 22 for self protection
It’s probably fine against an unarmed assailant but requires accuracy (neck, heart or head?) to achieve any stopping power otherwise.
As others have said – if someone claims a 22LR isn't good enough for self-defence, just ask them to volunteer to be shot by one.
"But body armor!"
That also defeats pretty much all other handgun rounds.
"But I can shoot through my dry wall with my 9mm/10mm/.45!"
The 22LR from a suppressed handgun can go through five internal walls made from half inch drywall: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pSVn7ozXTQ
"But MY gun can kill people at 100+ yards!"
That hardly counts as self-defense.

Today, .22 Lrs folding 22 times in be the size of a .22 round.

when idiots play with food
In Hawaii it takes only one shot to drop a deer where it stands with a 22 so it’s probably good enough
When I was a kid, we would x the top of those with a knife and shoot horse apples, and they would explode

👇👇👇 what they said👍👍👍
So instead of shooting an actual target you decided to waste a shit ton of food.
22lr, yuck 22 magnum 🤌🏽
it’s good and will take a person down but i know a guy who got shot multiple times then pronounced dead on the scene and woke up in the morgue
Uncle Joe reckons it’s pretty dangerous
Let’s put it this way would you rather have a 22LR or nothing in a life or death situation? Yeah thought so
