I can"t see myself carrying anything much larger than a 22, I know the major calipers are recommended but my Beretta 950 or something of similar size is what I would feel comfortable carrying. I have a Glock 19 and a S&W 4013 but those guns are simply too inconvenient to carry for me
It seems the majority of the gun carrying community who are against having a 22 caliber gun wants to shoot and kill their attacker. At least with a 22 you don’t have to worry about killing unless you shoot him the head. A 22 is a good self defense weapon for any law biding citizen. Just shoot them in the groin and your good. Trust me, the attacker is going down and will live to tell his story. However, if you find yourself in a gun fight yes a bigger caliber is needed.
I mean lets be honest though, it most situations a .22 will do the samething as a 9mm or .45. Only real super big benefit of a 9mm or .45 is you can hold more shots. assuming you’re carrying a .22 because you want a small gun you can carry in your pocket.
After watching many, many renditions of .22lr ballistics tests, I have come to the conclusion that higher-grain (40gr+) solid projectile ammo is the most effective for penetration and energy distribution. A typical .22 has nearly ZERO recoil, so firing two, three or even four shots from a .22 service-style pistol is comparable to one or two from a centerfire pistol. (160gr vs 250gr). The real issue is accuracy and comfort. With a Taurus TX22, I can accurately dump 3 center of mass and two to the head in the time a 9mm can get off two shots. (200gr vs 250gr). I usually carry a .40s&w. Sometimes I carry a .357mag. Carrying a .22lr would definitely be a different experience, but I have no doubt they would give confidence and protection, because almost every single person ever presented with the threat or actually being shot is not sticking around to contemplate their wound channel characteristics.
What ever puts lots of holes in a bad guy works for me. Any questions please stand in front of a 22 pistol thats spitting lead. Let me know OK? Lots of holes mean lots of red liquid flowing.
I think that the 22 is better for self-defense because it is less expensive, easier to handle with less recoil, and for short distances such as home invasion, more accurate.
Additionally, since getting shot by either in the same place will have the same chance of disabling them, I would prefer the option that has less of a chance of killing them. And a point 22 has almost 70% higher survivability. My point is not to kill them, just to stop them from breaking into my home.
Is a .22LR round viable for self defence? My Taurus holds 17 of em'. The dude in the video is examining what damage a single round would do. I'm pretty confident I'd be good after mag dumping 17 rounds into some asshole who busted into my house. I'm more concerned about cleaning up the mess afterwards.
I've witnessed more than one person who had been shot with a 22 to the chest and/or abdomen who initially claimed they were all right only to succumb to the injury minutes later. The 22 inflicts a nasty wound and the bullet can ricochet off a bone and just do untold damage to major organs. I agree the 22 doesn't have the immediate stopping power of a larger caliber but I've never heard of anybody continuing their current course of aggressive action after being struck by one although I'm sure there are countless exceptions.
It is absolutely ridiculous that you have to be disabled or weak to run a .22 EDC. I was in a self defense shooting and easily dropped both targets.
.22 Caliber has many casualties.
Punch ammo now for 22LR will make a difference for self Defense! 😀

.22 will get you almost all of the psychological stops 9mm would give.
I like how Bill Burr said it. A paint ball round at close range hurts like hell. Now imagine getting peppered with a bunch of .22 rounds…
22lr can kill a deer 140-300 pounds .. if u shot a human they bee leaking blood or dead.. these gel test is bs..
G44 isn't know for its reliability. Consider stocking the TX22.
Also, Velocitor seems to get better gel test penetration.
Just wondering what's the point when you can get a 9mm or .380 in about the same size, same capacity and same price range.

The .22 CCI Stinger's not a bad choice.

Everyone talking about immaglockdealer on Wickr for guns I tried him and it real the best plug ever.

I don't understand why the FBI wants 12 to 18 inches of penetration when all it takes to reach the lungs or heart is about 4 to 6 inches
Hey you stole Gun Sams background music . Not very original!
It doesn't really matter in the end.

A taser's probably better but… Eh
ask the mafia how they work
"I got a lot deeper penetration that I thought I was going to get". Been there.
President Reagan almost died from hitting by a .22 bullet fragment bounced off from the armored car door.

I'm getting a .22 so this will be some good info for me
TX22. 👍🏼
