Watching some beginners waving their arms around (no relation to “wave hands in clouds”) without being connected to their base and without an idea of the core application is painful, and this can fix them. Tsao’s form and control are beautiful — he’s crazy stable and at ease in one-legged postures. A good complement to this in book form is Yang Jwing-Ming’s “Advanced Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan” (2 volumes), as all postures have multiple potential applications. This…
