Some of these comments are ignorant and downright mean. Not because you don’t think it s good idea to step in, but because it’s a Domestic Abuse Victim. The “she must like it” or “ she’s dumb enough for putting up with it” is showing a serious lack of a moral compass on your part. 😒
I've placed my self into WAY to many stupid involvements, normally ends with the women getting beat up, then hitting me, after stopping the dude in a sleeper hold, saying LEAVE HIM ALONE I LOVE HIM!!!
I would have helped and then advised her to go back into the store and wait for the police to arrive or to at least get away from him. If she refuses and wants to stay in his company, I would be done with the situation and let whatever happens unfold.
Is hard to step on some body like that I got a bad domestic fight with for brother in law he was hitting my sister and got in she don’t want to put change on him and cops take me to jail 😢 don’t do it
This reminds me of my encounter with a domestic dispute at Dulles Airport in Virginia. I was pulling into the multilevel parking garage (my car) at the airport in 2023 and heard a woman screaming that she needed help. The screams were bouncing off various walls and I had a hard time locating her. After 3 minutes I found her and 2 kids near an open area of the parking garage (no roof) the husband was trying to force her and the kids into a car. Husband looked like he had way too many drinks on the plane, they were trying to leave the parking area. Husband looked very intoxicated. The woman had the 2 kids (maybe 7 years old) next to her side about 50 feet away from husband vehicle, and still screaming for help. I made my presence clear, but stayed away from all the parties (about 50 feet away) as I called Dulles Airport police. Husband stopped any physical contact while I was present. Immediately I was on the phone with the airport police, they had received other calls but could not locate the incident scene. I guided them to the exact spot using parking spot numbers. Police arrived and took my info and report. I still made my flight! The police gave me a pat on the back for sticking around to assist them. I told them I HAD worked for a local police dept as a civilian and wanted to help. Looking back I wish I had some pepper spray on me, had the husband continued his physical harassment of the wife and kids.
I thought the guy went back to his car to grab a weapon. I’m just happy he didn’t because I don’t think the defender was gonna be ready for that. All in all good on the defender.
It really depends. Would I get involved in Texas or Tennessee when the possibility of people packing heat is in the high percentile? Probably not. Would I get involved in the streets of New York when I see a little punk doing something stupid? Probably yes!

I'm in my 60s so unless its someone I know or a minor child I'm not getting involved other than calling 911.

Kudos to him for stepping in, but I suspect she's going to have hell to pay later on that day when they are back together.
