The #1 Mistake To Avoid In A Self Defense Shooting
►[Gun GIVEAWAY] Enter To Win Here: https://bit.ly/36fV5H9
You’ve just been involved in a self-defense shooting. What is the absolute WORST thing you can do when responding police arrive at the scene? In this short informational video, U.S. Concealed Carry Association Director of Content Kevin Michalowski and noted criminal defense attorney Tom Grieve give their opinions on what not to do.
00:00 What is the one thing you should never do following a violent self-defense incident?
00:41 Tom’s best advice on mistakes to avoid following a violent self-defense encounter.
01:35 Even if you’re telling the truth to investigators, a seasoned criminal will know how to game the system when giving an initial report to police following a crime.
02:38 How to respectfully decline to talk to police.
03:25 There is a difference between your right to remain silent and your right to an attorney. Be sure to raise your right to an attorney immediately and decline making any sort of statements until you have consulted counsel.
03:36 Kevin’s advice: “Don’t tamper with evidence.” Leave everything exactly as it lies following a deadly self-defense incident. Touching evidence or moving anything will send immediate red flags to police and investigators.
04:32 If you do need to move evidence (e.g. to secure a weapon for safety), be sure to tell the police exactly what you moved and why.
05:22 Cops are accustomed to people lying to them every single day, so they are experts at spotting falsehoods. If you are caught in a lie or tampering with a crime scene, they will immediately become suspicious.
What are your ideas for bad things to do or say after a self-defense shooting? Leave them down in the comments.

Dicussions on hypothetical situations and then expecting legal advice or realistic answers relative to a posed problem is a recipe for potential future diaster. No two persons will viually image any spoken scenario exactly the same way and will not serve either party well. In actual real life occurrences, it is often small insignificant things in words, actions, material items or even locale that play a part in the ultimate outcome of any encounter; things that cannot be accounted for in a hypothetical spoken situation
Good advice. Po po all think everyone is the bad guy. The less you say the better. Give them a bare bones general fear for your life explanation and then end it. One or two sentences.
When police arrive simply state I want to fully comply with the law but I would like my lawyer present before I discuss anything further. Beyond that police officers are not allowed to keep questioning you once you’ve asked for your lawyer.
Have a camera implanted in your eyeball and a speaker implanted in your ear so that everything you see and hear is recorded. That way there can be no doubt about what actually happened. I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
The best way to prevent going to jail is don't carry a gun. I carried a weapon for year's but in this crazy world of gun control everywhere you look I have stopped except in my home.
I've always liked law enforcement even though I've come across a couple jerks but that's reality and not a reflection on law enforcement. But 99.9% of my interactions turned out positive, even the ones I deserved. I had officers tell me after the fact that I need to not talk so much as even though they knew my circumstances, etc but my volunteering too much info could cause them to be obligated to make my life unpleasant while they check things I've said. They pretty much told me "Dave, shut up" as friendly advice.

Kevin if you don’t end this free gun give away that’s been going on forever, that ends soon, I’m unsubscribing!!!!!!!!! 🤬
I'd say it'd probably be a good idea if civilians wore body cams also it'd be easier to prove your case.

Don’t lie to the cops, they are experts at it. Just keep quite.

Is it mandatory that you stay at the scene after a self defense shooting? Serious answers only please.
Easy… "I'm not ready to give a statement until I speak to my attorney"… THEN SHUT UP!
Don’t make any statements to the police. That’s the #1 thing
