If I was a cop, I'd have to be super vigilant and alert on every call out. It must be difficult for their mental health when you want to 'switch off' mentally when you get home everyday to the wife and kids, etc.
Interesting entry tool. In the fire service, we use halligan tools and axes. Some departments carry a short sledge for a second man to drive the claw in. If you're confident that a battering ram is faster than other tools, take the time to watch 'Police Battering Ram Fails' here on YouTube.
Some higher end security doors are built with steel plate frames on the bolt side with umpteen beast-size screws into heavy beams. You'll need bilateral rotator cuff surgery before you'll ever get through one of those. How long it takes to breach a door is simply however long it takes. I recall a training officer saying, "Don't waste time. If a door is stubborn, glass is your friend. Doors are easy to open from the inside." (Just sayin'. I'd guess there are some circumstances this would be an option for LE as well.)
Something new that I've never seen except on YouTube is called a Kinetic Breaching Tool. It uses .45 cal blanks for its striking force. It looks interesting and might be the future for forcible entry.
Hey John, why have we seen several videos where a person with a knife is tazed, or otherwise drops a knife involuntarily with multiple officers providing lethal coverage and these officers will wait 10 seconds, 30 seconds 2 minutes before kicking the knife out of reach from the perp? My mind says if a knife is on the ground and I can take two steps towards a grounded perp to kick it away, I'm going to.
Looks like that taser was deployed to close to get good spread of the barbs to get incapacitation, but I’m just guessing because my taser expertise comes almost 100% from this channel, lol. Anyway, super sad about mom. I sort of expected that from the rp testimony, but I was hoping for something better.

Of pom pepper spray ordered quite a bit of them about three or four I work in hollywood california.So we deal with homeless and nut cases all the time have to say not happy with it. Can't tell you how many times it failed me at the wrong time. The last one didn't even work. And the spray is super weak, there's no way it'll reach what they're advertising. At least for the MK model, the one with the belt clip. That's the only one I ever used.
The less than lethal cop did a textbook job of deploying and transitioning the weapons while fearlessly engaging the perp. The other cop did a great job of allowing less than lethal to be the priority, and then backing up his partner once a lethal threat emerged.
