For those who enjoy making fun of this disarm technique there isn’t really a foolproof method as to getting out of the situation alive. He even states in the video that the aggressor still has the weapon pointed at him even after he handed over his belongings. Then again there is this thing called practice which hopefully makes you more efficient.
You should include a disclaimer: unless you heave good physical strength and have trained and practiced this the likelihood of being killed is like 90 percent.
You’re better off turning and running, trying to aim one handed with that grip there is an extremely high chance he couldn’t hit the side of a barn, let alone a moving target. Give him your stuff and run diagonally, and no don’t zig zag when you stop and pivot it only slows you down. He’ll probably shoot you the second you try and stop toward him the “get close to the gun as possible” isn’t going to work you already have to be in arms reach.
