One time a guy grabbed my collar. He was seven feet and weighed about 150 kg. I kept calm and he let go after a minute. If I had tried to hit, I would have been dead.
The instructor looks tough and is athletic, but none of this will work against a good judo/wrestler or an mma pro fighter. What you should do instead, is get a good base with your feet an address the opponent's free arm (the hand he can punch you with) with both of your hands… This Kungfu stuff is pure BS, unless you're fighting against someone who doesn't know how to fight. Anyone who wants to learn how to fight needs years of wrestling/judo; BJJ; boxing/Mutai. There are no short cuts
Would go for an elbow slice or headbutt. Perhaps knee to the groin for a start. Or go into clinch and knee the shit out of the attacker if he's not too big. tho headbutt is magic imo.
I like it when my attacker grabs my shirt because they only have one hand free and i have two hands free and since i know where their one hand is,i make them regret grabbing my shirt.
Also if he’s focused that high he’s not paying attention to the shins and the instep and the Achilles tendon. Assuming to be unarmed. Even if just a blade on you, a guy who has gotten to that position on a man with an edged weapon will start feeling woozy and something warm running down his leg and then wander how his femoral artery isn’t functioning properly. But yeah, hopefully one is able to avoid a grab like that.
If someone grabs you like that you have to assume he’s either going to punch you in the face or try to take you to the ground. Don’t wait to find out, palm heel to the nose should be the first reaction.
Pretty much what ,i' ve learned in kenpo years ago 🤔 only with a follow- up ,literally breaking the attackers arms ending him hopeless on the floor ☯️ 😅 👍
Over complicated overthinking tactics. When some one grabs you like that they’ve basically gave up one of their weapons while both of your are free. As soon as contact of this nature is made… no words no bravado no hesitation you just let the fist fly (elbows are great too) with shock and awe and make them regret they touched you. Sure maybe make a slight side step but that little counter grab or shoulder to shoulder deal guarantee no ones going to remember to do that and if they do they’re thinking to much. Ultimately, you should never let anyone get that close if you can help it but… refer to earlier paragraph.
You should have asked the good ole Will Smith. I am not sure you would have been able to stop him that quickly even with that technique, even if Carradine seemed to teach him a lesson.
In "White America." Lol. I've been all over the world and I've seen that. Tell him to swing by Black and Hispanic America. He'll see that there, too. Lol
Whatever you do never de- escalate. Be the bigger à hole every chance you get. If you're paranoïd and you think somebodys is looking at you funny and even if nobody looks at you but thé voices in your head are freaking out just go all in especially if you gotta gun or à knife or both. Yeah take no shit and give it out for free.
I call this "Steven Seagal Syndrome." Where "instructors" like this fella go way too hard on their students. He doesn't have to hurt them. He can just go in slow-motion, or go full speed without making real contact. He's purposely connecting with them, making them wince in pain and otherwise look completely uncomfortable with him demonstrating on them. Relax, chief. If you wouldn't do this shit to Mike Tyson in his prime, stop doing it to students who don't know any better and lack your level of training. Steven Seagal would always pull this shit with untrained guys, then when someone with equal or better training came along, suddenly he was on his best behavior, and never gets close to connecting with them. Watch him showing UFC fighters moves compared to showing actors with zero combat sports training.
Has someone grabbed you like this, how did it end?
I had a teacher like this. Very real world and extremely violent. Best time of my life. I learned how power up immediately.
The students are so afraid of. the teacher lol " Yes Sir "

They reach out and grab your collar, you reach down and grab their balls. 😊
