6 cops there why couldn't they all rush him with Less lethal? Instead of shooting him at 20 yards where he was clearly not a threat? Someone needs to lose their job!!! Bad shoot!!!
Agentes hispanos necesitan estar mejor formados at deescalation tactics.. amigos hablenle con un poco más de cariño al hombre, coño. Este conflicto se podría haber terminado fácilmente sin víctimas.. I know, easier said than done. Pero tampoco era como para matarle al pobre hombre
I don't get the logic of these cops trying to threaten to shoot someone who wants to kill "HIMSELF" with a knife. It's like "don't kill yourself or we will kill you". smh!
If a cop shoots "because his partner did", as opposed to defending against a threat, etc, then said cop needs to be elsewhere, with a different job. Or in jail.
I went to a California POST Academy near LA. During live fire exercises the instructor barked “LOAD AND MAKE READY!” That was the cue to rack the weapon and point down range.
The next command should have been “UP!” at which point cadets on the firing line would lob lethal lead with appropriate blasts of thunderous gunpowder and our silhouette would be shattered into smoking confetti.
They stood by for the command while the targets shuttered in the breeze to await their fate when we heard a deafening burst of noise split the silence. Then another. Then two more. And before you knew it they had sent a rainstorm of hot lead down range that ventilated the foe.
When the last shot broke, our instructor asked very quietly “who among us had heard the commands” and then boomed “to open fire?!?!” We all looked sheepishly at each other because no one recalled the order. The instructor then said that there was good news and bad news. The bad news was that we experienced “contagious fire” and the good news is that it was at the academy instead of out in the field. He then said that this was going to be an indelible part of our training. It was at about that point when we realized that we effed up.
The following calculations were made: each missing round was 250 push-ups gun had 5 in the tube, 5 in the saddle. All tubes were empty, all saddles were empty, 10 cadets on the line and a bunch of pulverized targets that couldn’t hide. Final total: We owed 2,500 push-ups each. all payable by the end of the day.
I went home that night with my arms feeling like heavy rubber weights and one of the most valuable lessons I’ve ever had in firearm safety and contagious fire. I’ll never forget it.
Even someone without my hearing loss would be pissed off by multiple people screaming orders simultaneously. These guys escalated a situation until the disturbed guy was killed.
Thanks John. As an unarmed security guard, verbal judo is key and should be used first. I lost a son to suicide and would never want this to happen to anyone. Showing force is almost never a true good outcome. Use your words. This is a devastating outcome for the family and the victim. So very sad.
A key factor that Mike clearly illustrates at 8:10 is practice, and that means deciding in advance how to proceed. In a driving class I have emphasized using good technique every day, and directing attention to it, so that it becomes "automatic." That way, when the stakes are high, and the nerves are on edge, the practice will direct action automatically. The person here who lost his life appeared to be so young. A huge loss to the world, as every life has potential for good from the teen years. A tragic loss.
All the bullies in school who saw life was more fun when people respect you're authority usually grow up to be cops. Speculation maybe but alot of people say it.
Officer failed to announce “less lethal”before using on suspect. Other officers not knowing it was less lethal followed up with lethal after hearing the noise which can be mistaken for a gun shot. This is going to end up as a wrongful death law suit. Making the city pay out millions to the family and officers who were involved receiving desk duty. It’s a sad ending but shit happens. Only officer really to blame is the one who used less lethal without letting fellow officers know beforehand. RIP Junior🕊
I blame rap music instead of 40mm Mike Mike I only heard 40 oz Mike Jones. I'm sure the fellow officers heard the same thing I did.

That's negligent.
I don't understand why they don't use batons and such on suspects with knives.
Imagine calling the police.

Murdering P. O. S.

"..officer needs help"..? No, office does not need help, officer needs sacking and to face charges. Bullshit

I don't know who makes these police policies, but cops need to start going to prison for this shit.
The last thing our officers want to have to say is "shots fired" this officer probably feels terrible about this situation, I know I would.

Even someone without my hearing loss would be pissed off by multiple people screaming orders simultaneously. These guys escalated a situation until the disturbed guy was killed.
Well that was retarded. How low IQ do you have to be to shoot a guy holding a knife when you hear a gunshot. Just retarded
Police Killer Cops have fun

Officer needs help is a no no in this case. If I hear that I’m dropping everything and going to roll code!!! Must be a rookie!!!

More evidence of beta males in uniform.
And this people is what we call an officer execution! Fucking bullshit and extremely sad!

This was REALLY hard to watch. So those were basically negligent discharges that killed the suspect, which is not okay.
