Alert Defender Gets the Drop on Carjacker | Active Self Protection

This alert defender gets the drop on a carjacker because he was alert and aware. He sent me this surveillance footage that isn’t online anywhere else…and I think his reaction is pretty good! He didn’t want to be identified. If you value what we do at ASP, would you consider becoming an ASP Patron Member to support the work it takes to make the narrated videos like this alert defender getting the drop on a carjacker? https://get-asp.com/patron or https://get-asp.com/patron-annual gives the details and benefits. Find a good instructor in your area and get some training: https://get-asp.com/directory This one has no news stories, as it didn’t make the news. The victim in this video sent me the footage from his company’s surveillance camera and asked that I not release his name or location. The video stands on its own, regardless, and the defender told me that the perp was arrested shortly after by police and charged not only with this carjacking attempt but with robbery for his actions just before this video. For those talking about the race of the perp here, pay CLOSE attention on the video to the melanin levels of the good guy. Zoom in. Then check your preconceptions and report back what you find.

Project Blue Bean says:

Still better than Mayweather vs McGregor

SteelHex says:

It ended well, but in that situation I would do things very differently when I see a potential threat. If I get into the car, I would lock the door immediately. If he is too close that I couldn't possibly close the door in time, then I would just walk back to the office instead of entering the car.

Pierre D says:

Very good job for not chasing him , and for not shooting after he started running away with hands up. It could have ruined his life had it looked like he shot an innocent boy running away with hands up

Pantokrator says:

This looks like perfect defence to me.

Jordan Santos says:

John, have you lost weight? Looking good man!

benjamin goldstein says:

First of all, the victim was racist for assuming this young basketball American was trying to rob him. That's all I need to know, he should have given his truck to the young gentleman. Its 2017, smash racism.

c Z says:

I really wanted to see the good guy shooting to the that bitch as soon as he pulled out his gun

Damn Eskimos at it again…

B Paton says:

Profiling works. That's why people and organizations do it. Whether they be police officers or ordinary citizens. Whether you are both black, white, or whatever. Something about the person/situation does not add up to what you would typically expect (i.e., a normal profile), or it adds up to what you would "typically" expect (i.e., a negative profile).

elusive762 says:

should have taken this scum out of the gene pool

Brian Waters says:

Yes…stay vigilant and ready to protect yourself….bad people deserve a swift response…….he ought to have driven away.

Grunt McPlopper says:

I always shut & lock the door. Start the truck, put it in reverse and crank the steering wheel hard right. Guess what happens next!?!

Zach Billings says:

Glad this worked out for him. I hope he'll think about keeping his gun on him in future. Really bothers me to see people who think they own a gun for defense but can't be bothered to carry it. It's not going to do you much good in the center console if you get held up outside the car…

TG 77 says:

sometimes you wish the suspect has the weapon…

Spushed says:

If I'm not mistaken, that is in Texas, NOT Brazil…

Zacchaeus Nifong says:

Great lesson here.

smokeclouds8 says:

Question, would following the criminal in a vehicle still be a bad idea?

dcdave357 says:

So would it have been illegal if the truck owner shot the guy as soon as he approached his door?

Omar Tayea says:

I have a question if some some steals your things on the street do u chase him

STAGEIIGN says:

and they wonder why?

davidayala1974 says:

This looks like Orlando,Fl……

Alpha Eleven says:

If a shirtless idiot, obviously unarmed walked up to me and told me he was robbing me, I'd BEAT HIS ASS with a baton and detain his DUMBASS until the police arrived. I can't believe he actually robbed people looking the way he did😂 those must have been some real SHEEPISH individuals to get took by an unarmed street bumpkin😂😂😂

Arc Sata says:

Now watch OP John practice the art of verbal judo about the offensive race posts on his channel. Watch how he deflected and de-escalate a potential explosive situation and stop the perps on its track. That wisdom comes from having robust spiritual fitness and mental awareness. XD

The kid just wanted a cigarette, take it down a notch.

I think this is in atlanta

Michael Bruce Allen says:

The fact that you have to explain how the victim had the right to pull a firearm is bullshit.

Jd hairiest M Toxic says:

Love how bad guy was zigging and zagging to matrix any bullets coming his way. Lol

Jeffrey T Bilello says:

He should've just left and called the cops about a suspicious person. He had plenty of time to leave or even close his door. Seems he wanted to pull his fire arm. I'm 2A alway the way, but he played that wrong. What if the guy freaked and attack him. Maybe got his gun from him. Just saying in this one, he should've just left.
