I don't even own a fire arm, but taking shots down a busy street at a moving car simply runs the risk of hurting someone else rather than the people in the car.
I’m gonna say probably not a justified shooting since the truck had already driven away and no other fireworks were being launched, there fore the threat was over. Now if the truck had stayed or turned and came back and was continuing to launch then ,yes, it’s justified to shoot . This is just my guess.
Our idiot neighbors from St. Peters-burg, Florida shot fireworks into our woods during a red flag no burn day risking a forest fire. Does the heat in Florida make them all stupid? All I did was call the cops, but arson is lethal force, i.e. an incendiary, and justifies the use of lethal force in self defense and defense of other, i.e. the child.
I was shot at, by a tailgater. I saw the gun raising up , in the nick of time .There were four 20-year-old men, onboard . POW !! When I got home I noticed a bullet-hole-dent, in the back end..all the paint was removed, just an inch away from the gas tank ..??!!! I sat down on the curb there shaking, for 10 minutes just looking at it. My gas tank almost blew up tonight ! I realized. Being shot at really hurts . 😮😢
Grab the kids and run… dont just stand there watching. He waited way to long to give chase and fire at them. Poor thinking. Better to follow them in a car while calling 911

Difficult situation.
Definately can't be considered harmless fireworks. Those are some serious booms and that thing can seriously hurt people.
However, running into the middle of the street and hurling shots down a residental area is taking it too far.
Little Jessica sleeping in her bed 6 houses down the road getting a bullet to her temple won't help anyone.
My guess is that this is some sort of stupid prank that the Suspects/Kids expected to go differently, maybe they didn't test those fireworks before.
Pure speculation tho but possible, there are stupid people out there that i would trust to do that.

On an open ranch or farm I'd have shot more than 3. In a neighborhood, I'd have shot zero and gotten into a faster car.

Alcohol I think was likely a factor amongst both parties in this instance. No way to know for sure, but seems possible.
