@MargieZyskowski says:

My friend lives in a big fancy house. Lots of windows near the fancy entry door. My friend with me told the lady who lived alone to get two 2" x 4" six foot long each and nail or glue them together to fill the space from the door to the opposite wall.

@MargieZyskowski says:

Keep a can of wasp spray near every door or possible entrance. It sprays 25'.
Also, nail guns are not outlawed.

@TerryArchibald-w5r says:

Booby Trap, maybe not. But, as a senior citizen I can be certain that anyone who breaks into my home, can indeed cause me great bodily harm. My biggest deterrent is a 12 gauge shotgun and something slightly smaller for my wife. Two dogs to keep them busy while I aim.

@queserasera7395 says:

I tinted my windows with mirrored tint. In daylight hours you literally can't see someone standing an inch away from the window! When dark outside and light inside you can clearly see inside from the sidewalk. Thats why I put solar lights above my tinted windows to reflect the mirror.

@queserasera7395 says:

If you could somehow wrap one of those long sticky fly strips around that alarm and throw it in yheir hair the only way they could get away from it would be to cut the hair off or rip the hair out!.

@PhilipTMartin-q2b says:

You imply that a brroken mson jar is free, but unless your family has shrunk, you have to buy aa new one.

@LoydHead says:

No it's not on fire yet but that can change awfully fast under the right conditions

@LoydHead says:

A skillet personally I prefer a 12 gauge with double ought buckshot although I know the law takes a dim view of it got to protect those thugs you know

@LoydHead says:

The problem with the peep hole is that while you can't see in from the outside you can tell when someone looks through it from the other side because it will get darker when someone is looking through it that tells them somebody is on the other side of the door as crazy as people are nowadays some fool may shoot through the door

@jimdooner4375 says:

I remember my dad telling me about putting a dulled 10 penny nail and drilling a hole just a little bit bigger than the nail into the window sash to make it harder for a burglar to open the window. Especially when they were near the fire escape . Plus I also had the tin cans stringed across the same window

@j.c.b-b1z says:

Yes a gun is needed

@mrf5347 says:

Rescue Pup ! Gets excited & BIG Shepard/Lab bark, when it thinks my grown daughters pull into the GRAVEL driveway. Gets defensive if not a regular visitor.

@bossroxdiysolar says:

This is a good channel, only thing that makes it sound stupid is "pattern break". What's the reason for those words? Get rid of it, sounds dumb.

@larrygooch6233 says:

It only takes 1 person in a town to go crazy or start sneaking around at night.

@Levergun4590 says:

I agree with you….many common sense solutions. The problem is, not many people have that anymore. I say the best deterrent are like you say,small dogs……I have 21 motion detector lights around our somewhat large property. I have signs at the end of the driveway..KEEP OUT…..my friend ignore it but it stops strangers in their tracks…..we need this in a lawyer controlled world. The rest, after doing these things is the small 38 caliber handgun with no hammer to snag on…….I carry it everywhere…everywhere…..if they don’t allow concealed weapons, I don’t go there.. ā€¦ā€warn them beforehand, have the dogs, then shoot if need be…..

@RobertTrocci-j8c says:

At night no one is getting in unless they break a window,, I live in a secure house,, and if they do get in,,, I'll just act like I'm sleeping,, and then shoot them with my 357,cal, snub nose & call it a day,, then call 911,, but during the day,, I'm not paranoid,, some people are scared of their own shadow…

@Wordofwisdom-f8c says:

I’m hard of hearing I sleep soundly it has to be loud enough for me to hear

@RogerCombs-i3j says:

my uncle said you need a cat in case you have to open a door. if confronted you ram the cat in his face which will give you time and mark him for the sheriff.

@hollyharris1874 says:

Did you mean to say that a burglar will pass a dark house for a lit one? Or is it that a burglar will pass a lit house for a dark one? (Seriously, I don't mean to be rude.)

@floppyice3453 says:

Wooden stick for windows are not shown in the sash, & th1 1st example & last example are actual holes in window frame.

@RangerOne-k8d says:

Thank you Silas šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø
Great advice.

@jerrelhintergardt6898 says:

If bear spray is not legal or hard to get, foaming wasp spray will do the job.

@Sue-ec6un says:

Security lights don't work if you never check to see if there is anyone actually encroaching on your space. And they go off every time a cat walks thru, every time it rains too hard, every time the wind blows. That ain't security, that is a robber saying thanks for the light so I can see the best place to break in.

@jerrelhintergardt6898 says:

My door is steel with long bolts. A heavy security screen out side of it. A can of bear spray, a GSD by my bed and a Caucasian Ovcharka by the door. No one gets in uninvited!

@Sue-ec6un says:

Now we're listening!
