As a bouncer in live music clubs for years. My favorite weapons were my flashlight and my verbal skills. You quickly blind someone and you can wrap them up fairly easily. Or, as we favored push them into the bear hug of my coworker who was standing behind them. In self defense, you can run, or preferably, kick them in the nuts, then run.
It is funny : "You can´t use hammer hit on his head becouse he will protect or block with his arms/hands" but the point is you are using the 1.000/3000 lumens on his face so he can´t see when you atack

Wouldn't it be easier if you would first shine them in the eyes and blind them (with some 1400 lumen) and thén hit them with a hammerfist?
man strobe is the best against wild animals, human aswell if you are fast on feet you're like shadow, you can't predict distance, anything

Look up "Latosa Escrima" for valid, no-BS concepts for using weapons like this for impact.
