Nice video 👍

Matias Gutierrez says:

Officer don't use cover or move to cover properly needs to practice sennerios with air soft or paintball at the very least good day

CAROLINA PATRIOT says:

Sounded like he's trying to command the suspect to drop the weapon. Folks, when a gun appears and starts to point toward you, it's time to concentrate on neutralizing the treat, not giving commands, specially with no cover. And, rather than backing up, he should have moved to his right, making him more difficult to target. And, why didn't he circle around his vehicle and approach from the right? All's well that ends well, but the officer was quite lucky.

Robert Sisney says:

I think it important that they know the flashlight also disorients and blinds target from getting a good shot.off too thx for the video

Jesse Sisolack says:

Guy tried to quick draw a shotgun? Seems like a foolish idea. Results are as expected. News said he survived anyway though, despite being hit twice.

Mark Rai says:

Suicide by cop set to surpass morbid obesity deaths by 2019. It's crazy.

Manny Lugz says:

The perp probably looks like a swiss cheese after that.

Lamont Hill says:

cosmicallyderived says:

1:05 holy smokes I thought that woman in the right hand of the screen was pointing a gun at her head. Then I rewound the video back and paused and saw she’s simply ineffectively holding the handgun.

DL Lambert says:

The sworn officer acted properly, I would have approached from the passenger side at a slow pace. As noted: SAFETY = DISTANCE. 😎

Dustin says:

Is “officer involved incident” the politically correct way of saying the cop lit that guy the fuck up? Lol

335i101 says:

Passenger. Approach.

Quicksilver17 says:

Hey John, do this video next https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR4KyIE3Mrg . It's a gang related shooting where the table actually turned on the attackers but there's just soo much going on that it'll make a great video for you to analyze.

Brendon Fitzgerald says:

John, last night I dreamed two guys squared off on me. I put up my dukes, heard your voice in my head, de-escalated and evaded. Dude, you're gettin' to me, man! Love, B.

jarrell law says:

Very well trained officer props to him more cops should train like he does or not be an officer at all.obviously this officer has been seeing some active self protection vids 😍not all cops are bad.suspects friends were like he was a good guy not a gang member yea right ppl like this should be exterminated.keep up the good vids thanks for the tips you never know when they come handy.

Roger Kreil says:

Well at least he made it home alive unless something else happened to him.

Bret Parker says:

In a gun fight it might be advantageous to move to the right, off line, so he is harder to see, without turning around, Moving straight back, in a gun fight should be discouraged. The way is in the training.

kb9rtb says:

Should have had his hand on the gun during the final approach due to the circumstances. The guy in the car felt it necessary to have BOTH hands on his.

Southern Longhorn says:

And again…another great video John showing the importance of practicing getting off the X and shooting while moving. Gun fights/altercations are never static. Keep up the great work man!

Daniel Dickey says:

#1 rule for using a flashlight is to carry it in your non dominant hand so your dominant hand is free to draw your firearm.

MrCheckitout123 says:

also at that angle of approach, he takes away the drivers mirrors to be used against him. the driver has to turn his head to locate the officer. also the length of draw of the driver is now increased and slowed.

Ted Hammonds says:

Thank you Jesus the officer lived.

Daniel Squeque says:

..🦊…giving them the lite in their face ‘,..is cover ‘,…..🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Ray Louis says:

officer parked at distance for safety and car headlights shine on perp and mirrors. officer approach SUV from far left side as a defense tactic to farther blind perp by the lights so officer can reach SUV and keep advantage.

Uncle Grandpah says:

Our officers are trained to shoot first, if that was a British cop that close when the barrel of that long gun came out he would have snatched it & beat the perp with it!!
