They’ll investigate what was said and what happened leading up to the incident, during the incident, and after the incident. Excellent advice…Police Academy LOL Loved it! This is very valuable information…I think staying in control and not cursing/cussing can make all the difference! Thumbs up my friend, great video!
8:18 I remember a story about an FBI agent. He felt that one day he would have a gun pulled on him, and that he should learn how to take said gun away from the assailant. Story goes, he and a friend trained often, and he got quite good at disarming. Then the fateful day came that a real criminal pulled a gun on him, his training kicked in, and he took the gun with ease… then he turned it around and handed it back to the assailant… who proceeded to shoot him.
Moral of the story, what you do in training, you WILL do, in high stress.
The going mantra now, is to complete the take-down when training to disarm.
Training Training Training – I train in MA with some wise Police officers, and I am sure they agree – its not cuss words, but the attempt to De-esculate. Good video. "Fuck Off get away I don't want any trouble" is a big difference from " Don't fuck with me I will shoot your ass" – politely.
…And the court of public opinion. When yelling commands keep it simple, clear, repetitive, and non contradictory. Bad guys, 911, and witnesses need to hear and understand, especially if english is not the first language. Matthew 12:37
It is perceived of those that work under high stressful situations that a certain decorum is exemplary. To take and stay in control. As a Trama nurse it's can be trying, especially when your adrenaline is running on high. Excellent points. The load that you police officers carry is tremendous. I find no fault if a word or two slip out. Thank you and take care. 🙂
I have only taken one on one training with my instructor but now I think I need to take a full class just to see what happens! They killed 2 Correction Officers here with hammers yesterday…be safe my friends!
The St Louis officer that was drug through the dirt recently for a completely justified shooting. Basically the only reason he was charged was because his mic picked him up saying "I'm going to kill this motherfucker". The shooting itself was 100% justified, but it didn't stop him from being drug through 5 years of legal hell.
James Yeager makes a good point on this when he says to always train to yell "STOP" as you're drawing your gun, because if you don't, in the heat of the moment you'll probably end up saying something like "DIE MOTHERFUCKER!".

Will saying nothing at all be just as bad as dropin Fbombs and curse words in a self defense situation?
